Fellow Hoosier here! They’ve got a small Bigby’s in South Indy now in a meijer parking lot and other than that’s it’s mostly in northern Indiana but I love Bigby!

I live in Northern Indiana and when they said Biggby Coffee was not in Indiana I was totally confused because I know of at least 2 within like 30 minutes of my apartment and then looked it up and it makes sense that it's mainly in Michigan because it was founded there

My parents honeymooned on Mackinac Island in the 70s! As a Wisconsinite, I need to put out a shameless plug for Door County, WI. It's a county (the eastern peninsula of WI) made up of quaint little towns - lots of wineries, breweries, foodie spots, shopping, beaches, and nature! Come see the western side of Lake Michigan - it's beautiful!

@@danijohns4000 June-August is definitely your best bet as many businesses are only open during that season! Autumn is gorgeous but you'll have less availability for restaurants and shops.

Agreed! It's funny though, being only an hour away from Door County I've always visited many times but never actually stayed up there, probably because I live so close, but it's on my travel bucket list. The trolley rides and tours are great too!

History of the Statue if Liberty in Mackinac Island: ‘The replica statue was one of 200 donated by The Boy Scouts between 1949 and 1952 and is the only replica which was donated to the state of Michigan. The Scenic Trails Council dedicated it on May 28, 1950 as a gift to the state……. a rededication ceremony was held in 2014. A sign at the statue says the replica Lady Liberty “offers to welcome visitors from around the country and the world to Mackinac Island, while reminding Americans of their hard-fought liberty’.

Last time we were on Mackinac we stayed at the Pine Cottage Hotel! The people who run it are amazing. My boyfriend had a last minute zoom court appearance (we're attorneys) and they let him use a backroom. Just overall lovely people. Just a heads up, you don't get a private bathroom - you share with a few other rooms.

My family camps pretty frequently at a campground in Grand Haven, just south of Muskegon. It's about an hour and a half north of us. Such a cute area! There is a musical fountain and lights show every evening in Grand Haven during the summer. There are different themed shows, depending on when you go. We have seen a Disney themed show set to Disney songs, and one set to the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman. The kids love it. We are going up to Mackinac next week too!

The next time you go to Mackinac island, you should try Kingston Kitchen at the Village Inn. It’s an amazing Jamaican style restaurant! My husband and I went to just try out an appetizer and ended up staying for dinner because it was too good. Also, get moomers ice cream 😍 it’s the absolute best up north. They have it on the island. You can also visit their farm/creamery in grand traverse county.

I’ve never stayed at the Grand, but Mission Point is where we always stayed when I was growing up! I do remember it feeling dated through the early and mid 2000s, but I think some of the accommodations have been updated over the years, the food is wonderful, and the history of the resort (just like anywhere on Mackinac) is very cool. Alright, end of PSA, I’m gonna go plan a trip because now I need it.

Being on the other side of the "pond" (in Green Bay, WI lol) I've never been to lower MI or Mackinac Island before, but this travel vlog has inspired me to start looking into more trips closer to home. Had plans to go up to UP, which I've been many times, but canceled due to covid a couple years ago. We've been wanting to make the trip again but it hasn't happened yet. I think I'd love Mackinac Island. Who doesn't love a ferry? Washington Island is great too!
