This is honestly the best video on kite loops on youtube. Theory and practical steps all clearly explained with examples. Amazing job, thank you, now I need to go practice ✅

Hey Blake, just gotten myself a 2020 switchblade, are they decent for looping? I only realized I could’ve gotten the FX like 2 weeks after I bought the kite, and I stay in Cape Town so we kite a lot - can’t return😂

Hi. Great vid. Please could you tell me why you clip your leash above the chicken loop, rather than onto the chicken loop & depower line?
@MACkiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, Blake and many other riders do that for unhooked tricks with a handle pass because it allows you to unspin the leash from the bar when you finish. Also, it keeps it out of the way when hooking back in. We do NOT reccomend it as this eliminates the ability to release your loop safety. Hence, your only option in an emergency situation is to totally release the kite. As you can tell in the beginning of the video, even Blake typically uses the loop connection for his leash due to the safety benefits. -Tucker

Hello Blake! I like your, Rygo's and Tucker's videos, yet, I am not there yet. One thing, I do not really understand is when to loop in which direction? Can you maybe just draw your direction on a piece of paper, then mention which move you make and then explain, which direction you loop and why? I can loop both directions while riding, but I always wonder, which is better?
@MACkiteboarding5 жыл бұрын
Stoked you like the vids. For future videos that involve loops, we’re working on getting more wide shots to show the kite. The paper idea is good too. Cheers- Rygo

Hey Blake , where do you ride the most in Florida , and what sizes do you use ?
@blakeolsen97625 жыл бұрын
Hey Jam, I ride a lot in Key West and Okaloosa Island Florida. Southernmost and northernmost points in the gulf. I ride pretty much all sizes depending on the wind, usually not smaller than an 8m.

Hey Saul, sure man no problem. Might be a while because we have videos scheduled out and I will have to go find some waves. Would be a fun one for sure, and I am moving to the panhandle of Florida so I'll be having some nice wave sessions. Cheers!

MACkiteboarding Yeah that'd be a good idea. Or maybe just try to shorten your intro. Somewhere around the 2:00 mark you repeat that looping can be intimidating atleast three times... These whole first 5 minutes just felt super repetitive. I geninuely think you could've put the same amount of information in a 6-7minute video. Still, thank you for all the effort you put into helping other kiters.

I want to start with a heliloop before kiteloops. I commited to it and the loop turned into a hybrid of a heliloop and kiteloop. Went to deep into window and I almost broke my ribs. For a heliloop should bar be sheeted in or out? I was sheeted in.
@blakeolsen97625 жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis, a heli loop or down loop is the best way to start. Heli loop is with the bar held in right before you touch down for landing.

great video blake/rygo! cuestion, with a 12 mts rpm, which is the minimum wind to try it correctly? cheers from buenos aires!
@MACkiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, my friend. It depends on your skill level and your weight relative to the wind. As well as what steps your attempting. Starting on a 12 might be a bit difficult at first as it's not the fastest kite. Be safe, use your best judgment and ride a bit underpowered. Like Blake mentioned, try some down loops first and a few backloops riding downwind with no jump first to gauge the power and get used to your kite. Hope that helps! -Rygo
@olsenadventures6 жыл бұрын
Hey Jorge, thanks buddy. I'd say that you can start practicing in as light of wind as you can ride the 12m for the first steps, however once you are trying to actually go for the kiteloop, and not the downloop you want a little more power. 15knots is a good starting point so that you can get the height you need for the 12m to catch you. It's much easier to learn on a smaller kite but you can loop on anything if you practice the right technique. Cheers!

This year Blake picked the Cabrinha Xcaliber wood. www.mackiteboarding.com/2018-cabrinha-xcaliber-wood-kiteboard/ I'll send Blake your question and let him answer. Cheers! -Rygo
@olsenadventures6 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, I am now on the Cabrinha XCaliber wood 141. Yes, right after you reach the peak of your jump and are on your way down you should start looping the kite for a downloop. For a kite loop which is a bit different ,you want to loop it right before the apex to give you the forward pull. Cheers man!
@SteveHofsaess6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Blake,, I noticed that you switched from a carbon board to a wood board? Was that because of the softer feel in the chop? I have a North Jaime Pro and I am thinking about getting the wood version.
@MACkiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Steve Hofsaess Blake likes to grind a lot of solid object so he decided wood would be a more durable choice. 😂 - Rygo

very good video on topic. splitting down everything but... I need one more step in between because no one explains that never... too jump you need tofully sheet in ... do I start looping with bar in this position or should let it go a bit and try to pull smaller loop? and what happens then? do I then release completely to let kite shoot up and catch me ? please help:)
@the_vauhaus6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can practically lock your bar in position and pull the trigger. Once the kite has completed at least 3/4 of the loop you can fully sheet out and lock again the same or the opposite way to follow up with a downloop for a smooth landing and to help your kite drift forward. I'm only still learning loops tho and this seems to be working for me. Feel free to take input from others too.

Thanks Achilleas, great advice man!
@olsenadventures6 жыл бұрын
Hey Pawel, sorry for the late response. Glad Achilleas was able to help you out. He is spot on. Once you have pulled in on the bar to send the kite, keep it in until your kite has almost completed it's loop. That is when you sheet out for the kite to catch you. Make sure to pull back in on the bar, and redirect so that the kite doesn't shoot over your head on landing. Cheers!

Easiest way i found learning kite loops is looping is on the way down from your jump.
@dennissullivan71196 жыл бұрын
Looping on way down. Is the bar sheeted in or out? I almost killed myself and don't know why. I had bar parralel with lines and kite still looped down into window. I don't know if I initiated it too soon or if it was because bar was pulled in.
@blakeolsen97625 жыл бұрын
Hey @@dennissullivan7119 , that is definitely the best way to start. I've been there before and it is very intimidating after that. We just built a new series on every kiteloop and how to start getting into them. Hope those help you out!
