I started on the 18" mast. Used it in large lake chop to waves to smooth ocean. Moved onto the 36" mast, man what a difference. Harder to waterstart initially but the foil never breaches the surface anymore. Getting the 28" mast next (along with the Fkite wing) and will see how that works.

For sure Brett, when you feel real comfortable on the 36", stepping back to the 28" will help you improve your pitch accuracy. Also adding maneuverability, efficiency, and believe it or not top speed if you can hold it down. Super fun stuff. The Space Skate wing is pretty stable and mellow speed wise so you'll be 100% fine with 28"

@@MACkiteboarding Had the space skate with the 28" mast, simulator board and cloud 17m kite w/24m lines out in around 7 maybe 8knots yesterday. Had to keep looping kite to keep it in the air until I was on foil. The space skate has so much more lift over the H5, also very easy to jibe and more stable when moving my feet around. It's a bit slower, not a big deal. Im more interested in short tacks and carving around anyway. Super stoked on this thing.

I started on the short naish mast and went to the 70cm but found the 55cm is better for carving and gives better leverage over large wings. I’m riding in the Pacific Ocean so lots of chop but it’s fun to pump over the swell.

Can you pump , dock start and ride small waves on short mast without kite? Thanks

How short can you go and still learn to air tack???👍
