His freaking emotion kills me. You can see the pain in his eyes. The hate in his voice. The breath he takes at 4 lives....this was the song that made me get clean. He is a life saver. A pure heart.

Macklemore is honestly my hero. There is no other word for it. I can turn his songs on and lie on my bed for hours. He speaks the truth, he does things rappers are scared to. For that he deserves respect.

Macklemore truly is something else and speaks the truth. Talks about things that need to be said and the things he sees. He is one of my favorites for this reason. Mainstream rappers talk about beef and money and how many girls they get. While Macklemore throws his heart out there and believes in happiness.

Bruh that and the 'can't believe what I've become, swore I was gonna be someone and growing up everyone always does' bit are the most relatable to me. I'm not even an addict but I can relate so much to this and starting over. I've been listening on and off since Thrift Shop which came out when I was in Grade 6 (end of Primary, or Elementary school where I'm from), but I never knew Macklemore had these songs. In a way though I'm glad I'm hearing them now, as had I heard them when I was 12 and 13 I probably wouldn't have understood half of them like I do now.

what i really love is how i scrolled through a page of comments and every single one was sincerely praising the music. not that internet comments define everything, but it's just amazing to see this song get all the credit it deserves. it is absolutely incredible and his performance makes it even more powerful. this is real music and i'm glad so many people agree. macklemore will always be my #1 inspiration.

We take lyrics for granted and what's written down are the lyrics. When you change as simple thing as a number in a sentence, it makes the whole world of difference. You start thinking even more how much these lyrics really mean.

This song has changed so much for me. I cannot go a single day without listening to it and it hits me, every single day. Ben's pain and anger in his voice, in his look and the intensity with which he sings Otherside break me. I saw him live last week and he sang Otherside accapella. It was breathtaking.

You can tell when an artist believes in their music and still find inspiration in it themselves. You can truly hear the pain and sorrow in his voice, you can see the anger in his eyes as the veins bulge out of his neck and his breath gets heavy. Real talk at its finest.

It's not about feeling sorry for addicts. It's about understanding it happens to people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds, financial status, mental strength, religious background, community standing, family life, etc. I have friends and family that have gone through what he sings about. I don't "feel sorry for them" but I love on them and try to understand what started it in the first place. Good people get addicted. It happens.

His songs are extremely true, every song of his has a meaning behind it unlike so many songs out there. The way he moves while performing, you can tell all the emotions, the music, everything just runs within his veins, his body, his mind. Beautiful.
