Quickly, in Photoshop to save the file directly into the Photos app, the preferences in Photoshop file handling need to have enable legacy save as checked. Then the files saved should be JPEG and it will save into the photo app otherwise it will not. Hope this helps someone it took me what seems like forever to figure that out.

The most powerful editing tool in photos is curves, you can do all your lighting and contrast adjustments with curves alone, it's more advanced but is worth the effort to learn.

I don't know but what the Photos app; is actually just as good as Aperture. Maybe even better. I used Aperture for years on all my older Mac's, but; for what I do these days, Photos is all I need. Very good app with a lot of features.

Hey Gary, this was another great video about editing photos. Here is my follow up: Let's say I take a few photos and have to send them via an email. From time to time I get a message the file sizes are too large. Is there a way I can somehow reduce the size of the photo attachment so the email can be sent?

Yes. In the Mail app look for the menu near the top of the body message where you can set the size of the photos. But the better answer is to not email them at all. Put them somewhere like a shared folder or create a Shared Album in Photos and just share the link.

Do you mean export it with changes and import back into it as a new photo. Sure. But why? What does that accomplish?

As an old man of 80 I have problems creating a YT thumbnail. Is there a simple way in Photos? I also use iMovie but struggle there with thumbnails. Thanks for any suggestions.

As a young man of 76, I use Canva for thumbnails. It does much more, but that's all I use it for.

Photos isn’t the right app for that. You want graphics tool like Pixelmator.

Hi Gary i’m in desperate need of your help, When I export a Pages document to a PDF document, why does it show up in Mail as a full page version of the document versus an attachment or (thumbnail)?

Do you mean in the email message? That's normal. Mail is being helpful by showing you what you attached. Keep in mind the recipient may see something different. Their email app (and settings) may have it shown as a thumbnail. You can't force your view of a message on someone else.

You usually don't transfer FROM an iPod TO something else. The music got onto the iPod via a Mac or PC. So you should have that music there.

Gary at it again. May be Apple should hire you ad the subject matter expert and pay you the entirety of Tim cook's salary. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't know squat about these.
