Copy and paste the following command in the Terminal window and hit enter/return: sudo nvram StartupMute=%00 3. It will ask for your password. Enter the password and hit enter/return. 4. Restart your Mac, and the startup chime will play.

I was a PC user since the 1980s. I bought an iMac in 2019, then a MacBook Pro, iPhone, and an Apple watch. I now have the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I will never go back to a PC or Microsoft. I am a committed Apple user. I will never go back to an Android phone, either. Thank you for this video. I appreciate all you tech experts who take the time to explain the details of Apple software.

at 5:39 Luke pointed out you when to point out the arrow to get them all appear, i have found a way to get them to appear all the time, you must go to settings - keyboard -i’m the keyboard section it will display ‘Touch bar shows’ Quick actions, you will need to change this to ‘Expanded Control Strip’ and then you have all your function keys 😁👍🏻

They were added to safari in Catalina after being introduced biting WWDC during the BigSur announcement. It was flagged as a Big Sur feature but released early because privacy is apple’s main concern.

I have been a windows and linux user for my whole life. The only experience with a Mac is watching those videos. Last week I made a decision: I am selling all my windows machines, two of three are sold and I had to sell a lot of my stuff, but I am sure I won't regret it: I ordered my first ever Mac, the Macbook Air M1 with 512GB and it is definitely the most I ever spent for a computer. But I am sure I will love it, windows gets on my nerves more and more and especially as a free time photographer and semi professional with audio productions like podcasts, windows and the complete mess they make with their drivers for audio devices I am so glad that I will leave windows behind me...

I've just upgraded to Big Sur through last night, and it was a bit of a shock when I opened the laptop today. So far so good, I like the new-ish look, I like the new notification thingy. The only thing I have not got used to yet, is the space between rounded corner of maximised window and the top bar. It pokes my eyes!

I like the new sounds, and new look the most, and it feels smoother than older versions of the Mac OS. Even though others were quiet snappy, this just feels overall more polished, especially when comparing on an initial release day upgrade. Sure I have a few little bugs, but they aren't show stoppers, and more of an annoyance, but they aren't anything I can't work around until Apple fixes them. I also noticed, that while my late 2015 27 inch iMac already had the start chime enabled, it got changed to the new one after upgrading to Big Sur. As always, I have a Time Machine backup in case anything goes wrong, and a copy of Mojave on a portable external hard drive, if I need 32-bit support. Overall, I've adjusted to Apple's new direction for the OS quite well.

I got to use macOS Big Sur on my Lenovo Hackintosh and it felt like an OS front the future. macOS Big Sur is a whole new OS, but it’s still is macOS that we loved and will love. I so happy that the Boot Chime is back. Can’t wait to get my first Mac. ☺️

The Unified sidebar is awesome. The removal of the top grey bar on Finder is awesome. Control Center is awesome (but agreed, it does look like it was meant for a Touchscreen interface). The whole UI is snappy as hell, on my MacBook Pro 2015. I have been using Mac OS for the best part of 15 years, and I am confident in saying this is best yet. Smooth as butter.
