Thank you so much! Unbelievable how many videos out there race through this so that you can't tell that on the second half of the knot, the working loop stays in front. Simple, but crucial!

Thank you so much, I struggled with this but your instructions are spot on in explaining and not time lapsed. You really gave time to explain this which is much appreciated & made it easy to understand and I think I have it now so a huge thanks!!!

Just beginning to try macrame. Before I start my first kit I thought I would practice the required knots. I looked at many videos and I am so relieved to have found yours on the horizontal clove hitch. I patiently worked on it and it took me awhile. It was so very helpful when you explained that on the first tie the cord is in the front and on the second it's in the back. Thank you so much for doing this video. It's truly a macrame 101 unlike so many others.

My problem is I always seem to have one hitch that's smaller than the second. While I've managed to perfect the stitch going from left to right, when I work right to left, the stitches form bumps (high...low, high low) , just like your stitches in this video. I was wondering if you've found the remedy to this, possibly after this video was made? Thanks so much.

Hi there! I'm wondering if I wanted to make an entire wall hanging just using rows of the double half hitch knot, would I have to make my leading rope extra long? Or is it okay to keep cords all the same length? Thank you so much!
@alicecatherine65204 жыл бұрын
Thank you I am using your tutorial for my wall hang! I am adding a rope to make the line completely straight as I am creating a square piece with sections... but the lines are extending outside the piece to the left and right :( do you know how I avoid this?

Question for the 2nd way (video). Whats gonna happen to the excess on the side? How do you conceal or hide them? Thanks!
@GrayWonders4 жыл бұрын
If you flip your project around, you are able to tuck the ends in the back of the knots! I like to trim and tape them first, and then just gently tuck away. :)

This was a great tutorial! Can you tell me where you purchased your braided rope from and what size it is please?
@GrayWonders4 жыл бұрын
Hi! The rope I’m using in this video is actually a cotton clothesline I got from Walmart. Now, when I need a braided rope, I will buy it from either Knot & Rope Supply, or Hello Bobbiny (this store is in Poland, so shipping is expensive if you live in the US. However, some US Etsy shops also sell it). I typically use either 4mm or 5mm for most projects. Hope this helps! 😊

Double half hitch knot and clove hitch knot are the same thing. A half hitch knot is just the first half of a double.

How do you tuck them in since you tied those knots how do you squeeze rope in there. I could see doing this with string and then you take a needle and pull the string through the needle and then push the needle through the knots to tuck in the thread but how do you do rope?
@GrayWonders5 жыл бұрын
2bLikeJesus John3:16 if you watch my video on the vertical double half hitch knot, I actually show how I tuck the ropes in which is very similar to this. But typically you are able to gently pull the rope loose enough to tuck the rope through. Sometimes you might need the help of a needle (or something similar) to push the rope through if the knots are too tight.

@alexxxxxxxaaaaaa4 жыл бұрын
My work is getting wider with this knot. What can be the problem? Also, the horizontal line rarely comes perfect aligned, it makes all sorts of bumps. A little help for a begginer here :)
@GrayWonders4 жыл бұрын
To help with it getting wider, you can try pushing the double half hitch knots up the filler cord so they are closer together with less space between each knot. It’s also really important to try to keep the same tension for each knot as you tie these. This should help it to stay more aligned.
