the amount of detail this anime gets is just amazing. They did a lot of research. Even the S. Aureus bacteria is properly presented cause they're yellow in real life and they are spherical in shape and their colonies are arranged in grape like structures.

As someone who's worked in the clinical lab world, this is possibly the most scientifically accurate representation I've seen in anime; at least as far as biology goes. They even get it right when they show that macrophages and monocytes are the exact same cell, they just get named differently depending on whether the cell is in the bloodstream vs. in the tissues.

Nope thats merely a depiction of what a macrophage is meant to be i am no medical expert or doctor but i understand a huge chunk of the show. Cells in your body act similar to viruses how ever they dont harm your body they take out pathogens and potentially dangerous toxins. This is why for example when you eat that say one sushi your body may not accept or anything poisonous in general and you might not need a hospital your white blood cells lay dormant and anti bodies attach to the main source of the infection as well as block of possible entries the virus might attempt to use when this is done they copy the dna and rna of the virus but it releases white blood cells that previously layed dormant to fight off the virus. In a scenerio where this fails the body uses a huge chunk of its energy into antibodies or macrophages and they tend to be more powerful than white blood cells and then transfers genetic information to figure out possible other ways the same disease or varients of it may try to infect you and prevent that just like some of us have chicken pox misseales or pimples at birth and you receive medications to help your immune system over time your body begins adapting on its own so the need for medicatons is minimal as anti bodies are sometimes almost undetectable. So macrophages do something similar their nice behavior and innocent or harmless look is nothing more but a disguise to mislead viruses and get their tracks this way it improves thier ability to pick up tracks left behind in the case a white blood cell fails so therefore their cute innocent look is to do nothing more but deceive viruses into a false sense of power before killing them off after aquiring enough info

So monocytes are the term for macrophages in the blood. During times of infection and inflammation, monocytes will frequently travel to the tissue and attack bacteria, eat dead cells, and clear debris. However not all macrophages are in the blood. Macrophages are not only maidens, but rather butlers, I’m thinking about using that gender definition to describe what person they are in. Butlers are male maids, while maids are male butlers. Other weirder powers that these humanoid macrophages could are animal traits. Such as having long tongues like frogs, to reach out and attack pathogens from a distance and then moving them closer to devour them. And being able to eat them whole like snakes. But mainly at a frequent pace, as many as a dozen pathogens per second(or even faster). But only for a limited time and amount period, before they get exhausted and fell asleep.

And I(Ryan VD)might or might not have toxoplasmosis. Other diseases(caused by protozoans) that invade macrophages are trypanosomiasis and leishmaniasis.
