I pre-ordered this in June, and after seeing this review, I'm so glad I did. My VF-0A should hopefully be in my hands in the next day or two. Postal tracking says it's here and through customs, so I can barely wait. I must say the price was a bit of a bother, especially since our currency is so weak, but I had to have it. It's an addiction. Oh... And thanks for the awesome review.

oh boy.. this is my favorite Valkyrie of all, VF-0A of Shin Kudo .. the scene where his head was blew away when he was about to help Sara is very mind catching, it similar to Eva 00 Rei when she was about to rescue Shinji..

Thanks for the great review!! I am really happy I pre-ordered this and had it shipped. The price was really high ( I believe I paid $264 at HLJ) but since the figure looks rock solid and has tons of diecast I feel comfortable with the price. I really enjoy Macross Zero and finding well made Macross figures is near impossible. It would bother me more if I spent $60 on a so-so figure than $120 on a perfect one. And if I did not buy it now and changed my mind after they were sold out it be spending at least $100 more. Prices for Arcadia figures are ridiculous on eBay. On CollectionDX's website it mentioned that Roy's Version is based off the VF-0D. Shouldn't Roy's be based off the VF-0A?

Thanks Andrew! Love your reviews. Just received my VF-0A today. Haven't opened it yet. Can't wait to play with it. I think I will definitely pre-order the VF-0S soon. This addiction is dangerous.

I hate to be THAT guy, but I am an airplane mechanic. There are enough airplane based toys that this should be useful. "Pitot" is pronounced "pee...toe".

I just transformed my vf0a into battroid mode. found out the cockpit canopy hood was sliding in crooked. the result was my cockpit clear plastic being severely scratched. buyers beware. bad QC on Arcadia's part. hope they fix the internal part of the hood mold for the S type.

Are the arms diecast too, the yamato had plastic ones and they were very frustrating when transforming and pulling them out.

From what I understand the joints are made of metal so it is very unlikely to fall off. My VF-1S I bought back in the 1980's is still in once piece. But back then my figure doesn't have the articulation like this one.

+zam023 that vf 1s is a great figure. the most fun to own, tranform, and display. on the other hand yamato/arcadia are having lots of cases of bad quality build since they focus more on design... my brand new vf 0d came with a broken neck joint and is super loose /:

jaydee.85 sorry to hear about your new figure. I hope you could get a replacement part for the broken joint. I have been looking at a bunch of reviews and I am not so fond of the ones with the plastic joints. If I ever plan to get a new VF figure I might try to get this Macross Zero since it has die cast metal joints. Also the new models have incredible articulation that my old VF doesn't have. The advancement in the design and technology put into the figures are amazing.
