Looks ok, the 4m night color range is not that good, may as well have a motion detector on a flood light and have the camera switch to daytime vision if you want to cover say a front or back yard There seems to be a bit of delay in person tracking, which if you are tracking close up might not be much of an issue but tracking at a distance might mean jerky motion or if someone is running, might mean they go out of shot altogether? I guess the thing to remember is the camera price, it's not ridiculously expensive, so there is that Next we need Ubiquity to bring out a dual camera offering

Just received the camera and installed it. Overall it’s good but I’m seeing if you walk by it , normal speed it struggles to catch up to you and goes back to home. Tested serval times anyone know how to fix that or is it normal. I have another one still in box thinking to return it if there’s no fix for it.

Yeah I need that for trespassers in my yard. And it’s already sold out, so if you needed it now it’s a waiting game. Just like the 10g Sfp+ from ubiquity, I finally got one after like a year of being out of stock. I’ll buy a AI version of the G5 PTZ for $599 but it’s needs at-least 3-5x optical zoom.

Great video. Would have been nice to see people at night without the color. It seems to significantly reduce video quality, so much so that it's a really horrible camera for night security where the ability to recognize a face is important.

Again really good review! And if i'm correct everything out of the standard field of view will not get recognized or picked up by the camera? Like for example; you're default starting point is to the left and when i'm approaching from the right side the camera will turn when i walk in the image and start following me. It doesn't include motion sensors behind the default field of view to immediatly turn to the other side and start tracking. But for this price really nice camera. And i also hope they will sell it in black (actually i hope so with all the camera's of the G5 generation because it would make it a better option for the customers also to choose)

Thanks for the review. When I saw the specs a few months ago, it didn't wow me, and this video has confirmed it. 2k and 2x zoom are a completely joke in today's standard. The night color? Forget it. Ummmm probably a g5 pro ptz at some point for 4k and 10x zoom?

Nice very good video. So the only cameras that do license plate recognition are the AI camera lineup correct? This one just does the basic recognition of people, animal and vehicles?

I can’t seem to get the popup to show to save a pre-set using iPadOS Safari or iPadOS Chrome. Nothing shows when I touch or click the box with the plus sign inside. No options at all in the mobile app yet either it seems. (Latest early access beta updates as of this post)

Well I’m a little disappointed,but for $400 Canadian it’s pretty impressive. I would have happily paid a few hundred dollars more if it had at least 10 times optical zoom though . I’m kind of in disbelief it’s 2K also . UniFi , the 80’s called and they want their camera back . Seriously though I may just order this to monitor the inside of my garage

Nice video, great camera... I am looking at UNIFI for a full system, but blown away how they have like 2 x 8mp cameras only, wow, kinda deal breaker, need to look at other brands now... 6mp i could go with but their range is 90% 4mp,, WHAT THE HECK????

That "color nightvision" is a complete joke. I have a couple of Tapo cameras that cost a fraction of this thing, the C325WB has full color nightvision without any kind of spotlight. It's just full color in pitch black darkness. My C520WS also has person tracking, it has the patrol feature and costs a quarter of the price of this G5. Sure, it's "consumer grade", but if you are using it at home, you don't need industrial grade cameras.

It’s an ecosystem tax. Unifi has a stupid easy setup and user interface. Reolink is a good competitor for price to performance, but the NVR and user interfaces are hot garbage. What is your go to system/cameras instead?

Don't buy this stuff if you live in the UK. The returns process is done by sending stuff to the Netherlands. Your products get customs charges for returns! This stuff is garbage! I was offered instore credits to cover the customs charges! I will not be buying more items to send to the Netherlands! Very poor customer service.
