What a man. To speak so honest about the flaws of apple and to have the guts to make his greatest competitor his partner. I’ve never seen anything like that ever. The vision he had for what he did and what he wanted to achieve is just incredible. So there is nothing more to say than: “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” - Steve Jobs

Oneness100 I definitely agree, the design of their product was in Steve Jobs era, Tim Cook doesn’t care about the design as the other parts of them device that’s why Johnny Ive left Apple because Tim Cook wasn’t interested in Design as Steve Jobs. Apple is a luxury branding and that’s why their products are so expensive even if Apple doesn’t have the biggest market share their products and their prices make Apple the biggest Company in the world.

Say what you will about Steve Jobs, but he was absolutely brilliant and died WAY too young. Tim Cook has done a great job at the helm of Apple, but it's still not quite the same -- nor will it ever be, no matter who leads Apple now and in the future. Steve Jobs is, was, and always will be .... Apple. He was mesmerizing when he spoke. RIP Steve. You changed the world in your short tenure here on Earth.

Brilliantly said. I used to own a custom built PC back at the end of 2008 with top-end hardware. Yeah, it screamed, but something went wrong and I spent the next year and a half troubleshooting it along with the store that built it with me. Never got fixed. In the end the store closed down. I'd had enough with the headaches, sold my motorcycle for £1,000 (couldn't afford insurance), bought a Mac August 2010 and am still happily using it to this day.

God do I love this keynote. I usually watch the anniversary keynote first when Gil Amelio brings Woz & Steve Jobs on stage, and you can just see the anger in Steve's eyes (in January 1997): kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5nLd4RjaNxoqqc Absolute shambles. Fast forward just 8 months to this keynote (August 1997), Steve simply references Gil at 11:23 (the rest of the prior board has resigned), and just drops the BOMB at 13:03. Masterclass.

Actually it's the other way around. Bill's first product was a CP/M card with Wordstar for the Apple II. The Apple II was the first dual boot computer giving people the ability to use CP/M or Apple SOS.

for all of you who don't know what you're talking about Microsoft on the behalf of Bill Gates and Apple on the behalf of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak took ideas that were on display from then in the late 70s from Xerox who at that were not only in the business of copying but they were also making computers. The GUI interfaces that we use on apple and Microsoft programs came from Xerox.

No doubt Jobs was key. But it wasn't only the cash Microsoft brought to the table, it was their promise to continue to develop Office for the Mac. This was pre iWork days, so that commitment was huge. It was basically a vote of confidence from a company that was very strong at the time, saying they believed in Apple coming back.

Say what you want about jobs, but he was a leader with a capital L. Not afraid to make real change and make hard decisions. Those were dark days for Apple. Most people in the industry thought they were dead. Great leadership brought it back and turned it into the most powerful and profitable tech company in history. Unbelievable story.

Why were folk laughing when Steve said having Larry as Software expertise on the board, did they think he was an egit or that Apple didn't need Oracle or that they didn't know how to do software, or that Apple didn't know how to do it and they thought Larry's contributions might be a joke I dunno?

It takes 10 seconds and 2 slides to understand that things have changed for good. Presentation from GIl Emilio has all the reasons why Apple was failling: animations show up for no reason, colours inhibit reading and that pace on his voice made me ask one thing : Why is this incompetent CEO of anything? I wouldnt trust this guy to run a lemonade shop.
