⁴ᴷ Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks NYC 2019 (GoPro View with 3 Barges) from Brooklyn Bridge Park

Full Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks 2019 from Pier 2, Brooklyn Bridge Park. Since 1976, Macy's has sponsored New York's annual fireworks display on Fourth of July. I was at this spot since 12:00 PM and the fireworks display didn't start until 9:30 PM. The views were absolutely magnificent and I was able to see all of Manhattan south of the Brooklyn Bridge, all four barges of the fireworks display (two which were in full view of the camera and one which is partially in view), and the fireworks from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Macy's fireworks July 4th NYC. The original nonpartisan Fourth of July celebration. Happy Fourth of July. I also want to add back in the seventies when I lived in Rockaway Beach rockaway's Playland had fireworks every Thursday night in the summertime. Hearing those barges blow their horns at the end, brought tears to my eyes. Brought back such memories of living there.

But this year is something completely different. Last night, they started doing the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks for 5 minutes each for different locations, because of the taping for the TV special which is going to be on NBC this weekend. They did the same earlier tonight, and it was in different locations again. Tomorrow night will be the conclusion, but no word on what location that the fireworks are setting them off. We shall see.

Last night, they did part 1 of the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks. It starts at Coney Island, and then it goes to the East River, and each of the shows will be 5 minutes each. This was due to the taping of the special that is going to air on NBC this weekend. Earlier tonight, they did part 2 including the East River, and then the Hudson River, and the New York Harbor where the Statue of Liberty stands where they usually set them off during “Liberty Weekend” back in 1986. And finally, tomorrow, they’re going to finish part 3 of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, but the locations will be subject to change. It will be 5 minutes each for three nights. This is something that is completely different than what I saw last year.

Just to give you a fireworks update, last night, they set them off in Time Square, the place were the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve, it was not a display, it was just a series of streamers where they set them off. It lasted for nearly about a minute. Not sure if part 4 is about to happen tonight. Maybe it will be the same area that they did last year which is Lower Manhattan which is the Brooklyn Promenade where they are going to set them off every 5 minutes. Part 4 if necessary is tonight, and then tomorrow night, will be another location if it’s going to be Randall’s Island at the stadium where they will set them off which is right by the RFK Bridge. This is going to be some sort of speculation is about to happen.

I was surprised at one of the musical pieces used to accompany the fireworks. Seems they used a very popular song with a strong association with the Confederacy.
