Think I've found my summer album! This is glorious. Along with The Slackers, The Aggrolites and The Skints, I think the Caddies are the absolute best representation of what modern ska/reggae sounds like.

I love how these guys change their sound from album to album... Just One More had a Surfer California vibe to it. Keep It Going Had a Spanish/New Orleans thing going on. And this album has kind of a New York/Billy Joel thing, really like it!!

Been a fan since 2004, and i still listen to this amazing band, it never gets old, its still refreshing, i love all the albums and i love this album as much as all the others. I think Keith still would recognize me because im on almost every show they come in Belgium, standing before him every time. Its my favorite place ^^. I love standing before the trumpet and trombone, as I am a sax player myself. I even had the chance to chill with you guys in your tourbus, a night that i will never forget!! I love you guys, and i always will!! ❤️

I didnt have high expectations for this CD after keep it going. I thought that I had proven myself right after the first two listens. Eventually I just found myself playing it over and over again and I really caught on to it. It has become my favorite work from the Caddies. Just wish they would come back to NJ/NY area and play the whole cd live

This is an amazing album, perfect to sit back and relax. I understand the comments about not being like their older material, but I appreciate the fact that this album has a clear and solid concept. Been listening to the Caddies for some years and I'm thankful that the band's music matures along with their fans. I would love to hear this songs live!

Good album, not as good as I expected, however some great songs. Shame the best song is the first one by a mile. Shot in the dark is a nice one as well. Just missing some craziness, still a good album.
@Garmichael1
@Garmichael1 10 жыл бұрын
I agree.. It's a good album, but after their last two, I expected something more, I guess. The previous two had sort of a concept feel to them, especially Keep it Going. They were more experimental with style, too. With a few exceptions, this album just feels 'safe,' which is a shame since they had 7 years to work on it. I did read that they had like 30 or 40 songs drafted out and picked these ones for the album. I'd love to know what they left out.
@soundguyj
@soundguyj 10 жыл бұрын
I felt the same way on the first listen, but as I listen to the album more I like it more and more. It seems like it is going to be one of those albums that does not stand out significantly at first, but gets better and better as you listen. Those are my favorite ones :) Although Keep It Going was both for me. I loved it right away, and like it even more now.

this is a conflicting album for me.. I have loved mad caddies old stuff for forever but this just doesn't feel right. I appreciate that they're allowed to change things up, and I find the first song very good but after that they all blend into a general country pop sound. Like something I've heard a million times on the radio. I know many people disagree,but I feel that they did in fact go very safe with each song, not taking any dares or attempts to make this a purely raw sound. Basically I'm saying this is not for me and I'm totally not bashing you if it is for you.

+Charizardous Rex I liked this album. They have developed so much as a band over the last 10 years. The Quality Softcore release was the first album which was heading in the same dierction as this album. People change dudes, so do bands. embrace the new sound, I still think they are amazing and I am enjoying the chilled tunes. In addition, I saw them live last year... they are by far the best live band I have seen, they fucking rocked.

+skafan89 not good? so you'd rather more of the same. even the best (what made you a fan in 1st place) will get buried if repeated. reinvention refines only leading to the truth of a band as artist's individual contribution to the symbiotic creation of art. go listen to a robot, im sure there is an app for that

If you haven't been a musician yourself you wont get it. But playing the same shit over and over again for years gets tiring and frustrating. People progress and change for better or for worse. No band should ever listen to anyone but themselves when it comes to their inspiration and composition of music. They do it first and foremost for themselves and their souls and then for anybody else. Also FUCK LABELS, music is music.
