That silver Porsche really stuck with you for most of the lap, hard to see but seemed like a 996/997 turbo. If so this is one hell of a time for a stock NSX. Congrats!

That's a lie, I was working pretty hard, but I did have a passenger and luggage, plus street tyres, so I'm going with those excuses. Also I didn't want to overtake you on film and make you look bad, of course....

haha! I can see myself at 2:46 on the far right. awesome video. quality stuff and nice driveing. The gearing of the 5 speed na1 is really long is it? a lot of 2nd gear corners with the nsx were other cars would have used 3rd. But I love that car. Its my dreamcar. should have asked for a lap in passanger seat.

Can you share what brakes you run, supension setup. Did you have any problems with braking, tyre rub, suspension bottoming out etc. other interesting mods for a fellow nsx ringer ?
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
Sure, but it's nothing special. The car has 210,000km on the clock and is pretty much stock It has D2 coilovers where the adjuster is stuck, and SP1 front pads. Rears pads are unknown and horrible. I probably had massive fade at the rear, but the fronts held up ok. Tyres are Kumho Ecsta XS KU36. 215/45-16 fronts and 235/45-17 rears. No rub, apart from the carousel. I bottomed out a little through the fox hole, but nothing dramatic.
@jeppemller4717 жыл бұрын
Thanks, what brand are the SP1 pads, any good stockist in scandinavia? need a set asap :)
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
My bad, they are SB1's from Freddy at Special Brakes, a local shop close to the track. To be honest, I can't really recommend them. Although they preformed great on the track, they are very aggressive. Tons of dust and noise, and will eat your discs. Not great for street use.
@dmanatan7 жыл бұрын
Is your engine stock or modified? This is a tremendous time for an NA1, one that nearly matches the '92 Type R.
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
Nope. the car is stock with 200,000km on the clock. Only mods are D2 coilovers and performance tyres.
@dmanatan7 жыл бұрын
Wow, exquisite driving, sir. Being an owner myself and familiar with the sounds of an NSX it did sound stock but I wanted to confirm. Amazing that coilovers and modern tires can put our cars on par with cars like a 987 Cayman R, 981 Boxster S, 575 Maranello, and E92 M3.
@JCviggen17 жыл бұрын
The lap time here is bridge to gantry, not a full lap that those cars are timed by. The difference is 25+ seconds. But those cars do have an empty track so don't lose as much time passing other cars.
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
That is correct. The NSX will take 27 seconds to complete Döttinger Höhe. However, there is a gain of 5-6 seconds when you are flying underneath Bridge. So in reality I would have to do 7:54 to match the official time by Kurosawa on the full lap. Definately possible without traffic.
@dmanatan7 жыл бұрын
To match Kurosawa's '91 NSX time of 8:16 or the NA1 Type R time of 8:03??

They are very rare, three piece split Speedline Mistrals. Not the prettiest ones I could find, but very light and strong for track use. I will probably get a bigger and nicer set for normal driving. Just haven't decided which ones yet. Open for suggestions.

gabrielwhite Haha. Yeah, quite far away from that limit, mate ;)
@gaboaaa237 жыл бұрын
well dont think so....but its your car :-)
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
gabrielwhite You may think so, but I am telling you, as the driver, that I am well within my limits. This is what I do. After 25 years in motorsport, and another 8 as a stunt-/precision driver, I can't afford to overestimate my own abilities. But as my job is to make driving look exiting, I take your doubts as a compliment ;)
@gaboaaa237 жыл бұрын
well of corse you feel it better than i because you are in the seat! But on the video it looks very frightening. There is one part where you are very hectic and you want to grab the shifter but than you realize its not a good idea because the car behaves very unpredictable right on top of the hill before the corner. looks like you are not a 100 percent confident there. You know wich part i mean?
@FredrikSoerlie7 жыл бұрын
gabrielwhite Yeah, had nothing to with confidence. Just realized I had tons of revs left. Only got four laps that weekend, so shifting points weren't dialed in yet.
