I love how you figured out to do this! Thank you! I learned a lot! Zenicolor is the only non bleeding clear wet colorant I've heard of so far... and the shipping from eaurope is expensive. Regarding adding titanium dioxide will not keep the vanilla from browning i am sorry to tell you... if it would, then the titanium dioxide in the white base would have you covered. Vanilla color stabilizer only slows the process but is a better bet that the titanium dioxide. Personally i would have only used the FO with vanilla in it on the black parts where it wont show. For me, i find it unacceptable that a soap i sell turn brown on a customer. Especially because brown is also the color of rot. I want my customers to feel 100% confident in their trust in me and my soaps. It is aggravating to have to deal with that aspect but vital imo. The WORST thing that coukd happen to our industry is people loosing trust avout home made soaps. Imo, we must be different with this and with additives that can rot, like flower petal etc. We are not only hurting the client when we do this, but our own businesss and the industry itself. You know?💜💜💜
@SudsBees3 жыл бұрын
thank you for the feedback. I don't sell products and all the soaps I gave away were used right away so I never saw them turn brown though I'm sure they would have.
@beautymuse26883 жыл бұрын
But if you're teaching this to people you should make sure they know. The people they give or sell it to may not use it right away. Vanilla in FO will, in time, turn soap brown. The answer is to either use VCS Vanilla Color Stabilizer, or use that FO in soaps that are brown or black or wont ruin the look if they turn brown. Here you could have addes the FO with vanilla in it to the black. Couldn't you add a banner saying so? Or at least put it in your comments?💜💜💜

I'm trying to figure an easy way to figure the % of fragrance oil to use. You mentioned 2% is two grams. Is 3% 3 grams of fo weighed, 4% 4 grams. 5% 5 g for entire batch and so on or am I not understanding correctly. I get confused on percentages and how much to add to weight of batch. Thanks
@SudsBees3 жыл бұрын
the fo percentage depends on which fo you are using and how strong you want the scent. make sure to follow the manufacture requirements. I tent to use small percentages because I don't like fragrant soaps. if you are using 3% fo, you would add 3% of the total batch of soap.

How does the white soap stick to the diagonal piece without breaking apart, if it was already hardened? Im having a problem with 5 layer soap breaking apart. I use alcohol spray, and wait for a skin to develop.
@SudsBees4 жыл бұрын
I had that same issue when I moved to TX, make sure you scratch the hard piece with a toothpick and make sure to scratch the corners real well, use 91% alcohol do not create layers using 99%.
@reflux0434 жыл бұрын
@@SudsBees Thanks. It was the 99% ive been using, so i'll try the 91%. I just wanted to ask.. see when i pour my first layer and spray it to get the bubbles out, after im ready to pour my next layer, do i spray it again just before pouring?

@@SudsBees Can you please clarify if you use 99% or 91% Rubbing Alcohol? Your video says 99% but in the comments you say 91%. I’ve had problems with my layers not sticking too. I will try scratching the surfaces too. Thank you for your video!!!

@@thbailey3 I used 99% in this soap which was ok with the weather at the time. I no longer use 99% when creating layers because the weather is so bipolar here in TX sometimes the layers won't stick. I now only use 91% when creating layers. Hope this helps.
