"Tonight a Hurricane!" was an awesome opening for the first ep. of BGC! I loved that song before I even heard the original Japanese version. Can't find it anywhere on youtube though. Thank goodness someone has an actual link to all the dubbed episodes, so i finally got to hear it again :)

I wonder why people argue whether the Japanese version of these songs are better than the English versions. The real answer is clear: The English version... Is just as good as the Japanese version, and the two languages are great in their own different ways.

it has a lower qualyti of performance at the instrumental part of this song but the voice is good, in the original version you can delight the instruments along the voice of kinuko

Appreciate the efforts to even make an English version of the songs like OtakuD50 said but yeah the original song in the Japanese language sounds better, more pleasant to the ear even if you don't understand the words.

Wow! I preffer the japanese mostly, but this one has some crazy lyrics (ok, and I like the drums too): 1:26 Cold angry child wounded and wild Seeking the blood of our rivals You and I ride Raging inside Challenging death for survival

I wish I did. I wouldn't mind having isolated mp3s of the English songs, even if they aren't anywhere as good as the originals (especially Konya wa Hurricane and Kodoku no Angel).

The DVDs are bilingual, so... they're there even if you don't want 'em. Peronally, I like how they actually went to the trouble of making the English songs. Most of them suck compared to the originals, but they're all pretty close to the song's meanings and aren't bad to listen to.

I learned both versions and while I favor the Japanese the English versions are very good compared to a lot of other titles that came out dubbed at the same time in the early-mid 90's.

No doubt on that...the people who do these dubs really do want to get as close a possible, but I will take the original version from Oomori-chan any day. ^_^

You know Its a toss up some songs like this one sounds fine in english, generally the Japanese Vocals sound better, but the music it self seems to have more pop in the english version.
@LPWatterson11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting this, I hadn't heard it. Unfortunately I can only damn it with faint praise. Like others, I find this interesting but prefer the original. This singer sounds nice enough, and well trained, but while Kinuko Oomori's singing was rougher, her voice killed. The lyrics aren't translated, but are "reversioned", which I hate. Where is "The windstorm enrages the savannah" or "Cool stares are more tender than sympathy"? The baking track doesn't suck , but no guitar solo. The original has one of the best double lead tracks I have ever heard.Lacking the edge of metal that hovered over the Japanese version, this seems a little lackluster.

One advantage to the english version songs is that you can sing along with it without feeling like you are butchering the japanese language, which non-J speakers probably are.
@k1productions873 жыл бұрын
Now if only they would make a version of these that more closely emulate the original music (as in proper instruments, rather than cheap synths). It would make a world of difference, as the voice itself is not that bad, its just the instruments that are poor.

I prefer subbed anime... But its good to watch dubbed shows every so often. Its easier on the ears listening to a language you can understand. That being said please leave this singer's throat alone.
@KingCharltonHeston14 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't think the dubbed songs are that bad. It's the dubbing of the characters in teh actual episodes that are problematic. Whoever hired Sinda Nichols to do Priss should be flogged.

so, were are our american live BGC movies damn it. At this point, i'd even see them if that ass-hack Michael Bay made them & cast Megan Fox as Priss.
