aw man, I loved the original cover of this. I adored the more melancholy feel to it, and it honestly fit it better than the original. But, this one is a great cover! Well I feel that the fandom really creates more adult and complicated emotions and stories for the characters of the show, so it's not necessarily about happy prancing ponies all the time - we're using them as a creative platform, not necessarily a direct mimic of what the show presents. It's more about what fits with the show itself, but what stories and depth to the characters that we imagine, I do see your point though! :3

Creepypastas don't factor at all in my conclusion. Party of One shows how fragile her psyche is; her grasp on reality fracturing when she convinces herself that her friends don't like her or her parties. Pinkie NEEDS to others to laugh and have fun with her and to be her friend, because that is the paradigm she has built around herself. Party of One is the prime example of this, but the hints are there in other episodes. Remember how terrified she was of Rainbow Dash forgetting about them after just a few days away? Or how about this telling line from the Smile Song: "There's one thing that makes me happy, makes my whole life worthwhile." To be clear, I am not saying that her cheerfully chaotic disposition is a mere front. It is a genuine part of her personality, no less so for having been deliberately constructed by herself. But always there is the undercurrent of depression, codependency and overcompensation.

Pinkie Pie and her needing of both partying and having friends is understandable but still, if you compare her to the creepy-pasta version, she is most broken since Pinkie Pie was based on a late character whom committed suicide.

The singing is definitely great, but I think having *literal* lyrics in a cover of a song like Mad World just doesn't work. Mad World is so great because the music and vocals are good, plus the lyrics are poetic. This is just a little hard to take seriously.

That's where I disagree to an extent. I see exactly what you mean, but when I consider the episode and what happened (potentially the real Pinkie Pie was banished back into the mirror pool while a duplicate steals her role), the song's tone and lyrics take into consideration the dark potential truth to the episode from the real Pinkie's perspective. While she came into the idea of going to the mirror pool with good intentions, it quickly turned into chaos and potentially the damnation of her life stuck in the mirror pool. To me, this song is like her reflecting on how things went so wrong (and possibly even more wrong). But again, I can see where you're coming from because this song did stray from the original concept that Mad World delivered.
