His vehicle and team of camels were stolen, and he wanted them back. He came to Bartertown because that was the closest thing to a 'clue' he came across. He even sees his own camels at one point in town and in the Underworld Master Blaster was trying to disarm his vehicle. That's why he was even there.

@@soundandfury2680 I was 10 when this came out in theatres, and I distinctly remember completely missing the fact that was his vehicle later in the film that he crashes. Since they don't show it that much it's easy to miss.

I'm quite tolerant of it nowadays. So much is good in it. Like it better than the first. Maybe you missed it, because YT edit didn't have you mentioning the actor Bruce Spence, who's flying that plane, is the same actor, who played the gyrocopter guy in The Road Warrior. Funnily, he's actually a different character in this.
