Lazy critiques that because furisosa is the main hero the film shouldnt be called mad max while cometely missing the central themes and purpose of the movie prove that you clearly didnt like the movie (which is fair) but have taken to bullshit justifications that make no sense.

of all the things i got from this movie, its the idea that the ONLY record of our spoken words, of our civilisation... is vinyl records themselves. they can fossilise. given the ideal sediment deposits, fine clays and silts, and then... time... our tape degrades, our wires corrode, our capacitors discharge and fail. buildings fall and steel rusts away. i like to think that in a few million years there will still be samples of our audio kicking around. and that any thing with the intelligence to figure out what its little grooves and ripples signify, will actually have no trouble reproducing its contents. that its principles are in fact, self explanatory. and gratefully, most of it will be music from before the rot set in.. the stuff that only just was starting to emerge when this was filmed... no miley cyrus, no 50cent... bliss :) bonjour, merci, si'l vous plait?

That truck body/train setup is absolutley sick. I know it's a movie, but that gearhead part of me asks, how was it built, what kind of engine ran it?? Fucking genius engineering and building. Alot of the Mad Max Trilogy vehicles were like that. Of course, the original Interceptor, a 1979 Ford Falcon, with Weiand intake on top a 351, with that insane blower. The Aussies have it right, even to this day: take a Ford Fox body (like a USA Mustang) and make THAT thing!
@snowrocket7 күн бұрын
I think the Intercepter was a '73 Falcon XB, the Australian version of the American Torino GT. The Bartertown truck was a 1960's era B-Series Mack truck. It hadn't occurred to me then, but now I rationally ask, "If Bartertown runs on methane, and the truck broke away from that fuel source, how does it stay running?".

I was never a fan of this movie. Unlike Road Warrior, I never felt that they were in real danger at any time. I couldn’t feel the tension that permeated the second film. And the annoying extreme closeup of the bad guys for no reason was ridiculous. Is this a good movie as a generic adventure flick? Yes. Did it feel like it was part of the Road Warrior universe? Not so much. Everything felt silly, almost like a parody, such as the frying pan scene here.
@hello_there5713 жыл бұрын
Its basically two movies put together. Miller did the first half and then came someone unknown who wanted to make a apocalyptic version of "lord of the flies" and he just put his idea in mad max. Beyond thunderdome making was hard for Miller after his friend's death so he didn't care much for the film. The pg lowering damaged the movie heavily. I have a conflict with that movie. I like this movie and deeply hate it at the same time.
@nunyabidness4220 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, and chasing a train is also a problem. A train can go faster, or slower... and that's about it. There's not a lot of evasive action you can take when you're stuck on rails, and everybody's gonna know where you end up, even if they don't catch up immediately. So that kind of kills the whole chase thing. There's no "driving," which is a core component of Mad Max movies.

This makes sense if you ve read Lord Of The Flies, for example. The scenes play in your head and you watch the movie and the scenes are just "too" airbrushed. This is that. Thematically and intelligently brilliant, but the visual ratio is an awful match, especially the music, with the G-Pg, R ( wait!)...and back-thing
