@@TheApocalypsePost I wish I had the resources at my disposal for it. There's nothing at all like Wasteland Weekend up here in Canada that I know of. I used to go to a post-apocalyptic LARP but it was expensive, the people running it wouldn't let us do anything really fun, and it eventually shut down.

Live steel was new for 2018, most matches are rattan or other weapons.

with non-serious fighting I find the best training is to just throw yourself into it. I've done a bit of fencing with longsword and saber, and been wanting to get into HEMA, but I also like boxing and just plain ol sparring with friends.

it is NOT real weapons.
