Thanks Eric, I have passed by the sign for Calico ghost town probably a hundred times over the years on my way to Las Vegas and back, always being in a rush to get there or get home. I'm leaving next Saturday morning on a trip to Montana and this time I will be stopping at Calico Ghost town, but I probably won't be buying the magnet, but it did look pretty cool so will see. Also possibly stopping at Barstow station for lunch but Barstow station can get pretty crowded and crazy and would probably be a nightmare to find parking with my 31' motor home. Thanks again. Happy Trails, I'm really enjoying your Route 66 tour.

Great video of Calico. After seeing you in Victorville I was mad at not telling you of some points to check out like Barstow Station and Calico Ghost town. Glad you were able to find them on your own! From there I'm guessing you will make a stop at Peggy Sue's Diner and Dinosaur Park. Then on National Trails Highway Rt 66 you will come across Baghdad Cafe and Pisgah Crater then the lovely little town of Ludlow. By the time you read this comment you're probably already past Needles and into Arizona. Safe travels!

Eric, those vehicles you saw by Shady Lane were from a couple of brothers that used to have a wrecking yard right there at one time. When you have a lot of time on your hands and a limitless supply of used parts, well that's what you end up with. :) I AM SO GLAD you got to see Calico, I spent 37 years of my life in Barstow (was born there), which makes these last few video very special for me. Thanks so much for sharing!

Glad to see you are traveling through the midwest, old Route 66. Something on my bucket list as well. There's a LOT of history as you travel east. I can't remember the name of the for sure, but route 66 cuts through a small area of SE KS. It's very sad to see what lead mining did to the community. It is truly a modern ghost town

Hiya, Eric! I'm a fan of the ol' west & ghost towns so I was intrigued with this vlog (touristy as the place is). Since very little is free nowadays, it would helpful to your viewers planning trips if you gave a heads-up on charges & fees for attractions/parking, etc. Give us a clue so we can 'balance the budget 😊

Travel suggestion: I just came back from way southern Arizona and a couple of towns. One of them is Bisbee which was a copper mining town and supposedly the largest town between St Louis and San Francisco at one time. Just a neat town now and close to Tombstone if you like gunfighters. Nice scenery and a great mining museum. Just a thought.
