The funny part about the guys-on-poles bit is that it wasn't Miller's idea. It was the stunt guys' idea, and apparently Miller was hesitant about it due to safety concerns; but the stunt team wanted to do it anyway.

Close to flawless movie imo. Only thing I would change is the shot when a steering wheel flies at the screen. Takes me out of it every time, very obvious "o0o0o 3D!!" moment.
@NeroIML4 жыл бұрын
I feel the same, except the thing I would change is Max's "how much more can they take from me"-dialogue when the hunt starts. It's very obvious ADR and doesn't fit with Max's semi-feral state at the time.

@kloggmonkey4 жыл бұрын
this version of max is supposed to be more primal, his lack of dialogue is a testament to his many years of solitude in the wasteland. also, he's the vehicle (no pun intended) for the story. he's not the most important thing in it, but he is the focal character and the only one with a complete arc (EDIT: except for nux i suppose). in fact, he's in almost every scene from start to finish, he's just not the only main character and that's completely fine. tbh, max isn't that interesting on his own, but the world and everything in it is.
@steroidbaggins2936 Жыл бұрын
@@kloggmonkeyyea, after 3 movies we know max, we know his backstory, we know the way he thinks and how he deals with the world. We don’t need him to explain himself. It’s why he is as you said, the perfect vehicle through which the audience can see the wasteland

Mad Max: Fury Road is a great movie. There have been reboots that worked and reboots that didn't work. Mad Max: Fury Road was one of those reboots that worked. A good comeback for the Mad Max film franchise after 30 years. Quiet possibly, not just the greatest action film ever made, but the best Mad Max movie since Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Tom Hardy was right actor to take over the role of Max from Mel Gibson. George Miller took the film in a darker direction and I really liked what he did with the story and with the new incarnation of Max. The film had spectacular non-stop action from stop to finish. The costumes, the vehicles and the stunt work and special effects were all taken to a new level. One of the best and better reboots we've had for the past decade. The Road Warrior is reborn and back for a new generation.

I've seen some theories that Mad Max in this movie isn't really Max, but is the long-haired wild kid with the metal boomerang from the Road Warrior. Can't say if its true or not, but its interesting the logic behind it, such as the boy not talking & just grunted and Max here not talking much either and also just grunts. Max in the very beginning had long wavy hair just like the boy, and had the music box that Max gave the boy. Again, not sure if its legit, but its interesting with the coincidences.
