Grab your steel and bolts, …pull out the welder and lets construct a snow plow for the homestead - sort of MAD MAX thunderdome style. This plow is designed to quickly connect into the Front End Loader (FEL or Bucket) of my compact tractor. It has a blade that can be set for straight on, or various angles, a controllable float, pressured float, obstruction flex mechanism, and road cant (skew) angle adjust.
A new Warn blade was purchased for about $300 and the rest of the material are from the steel yard and the hardware store. Making a GOOD curved blade is difficult and well more trouble than spending a few sheckels for a strong and powder coated manufactured blade.
Snow kidding - you can build one too !!

[ The vehicles in this Mad Max movie are ‘hacked/cobbled” together from various sources - to create workable ‘steam-punk’ like creations. And Mad Max (or “Mad Maxing”) is sort of a term used for this type of building - however, I personally can’t help trying to make my creations slightly more svelt/elegant… ]

A somewhat simple and quite robust design that bolts right into the bucket. Its sitting ready to bolt in and go plow the snow - no need to remove the bucket each time.

Watched the two videos out of order, but the whole thing is pretty awesome! Nice plow blade! You saved a lot of money. Good deal. I have to go and look where you live again since you said you can have winters without any snow at all....That won't happen where we are!

@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid Geologist -- very cool. There is much in this area but due to its verdant nature much also seems hidden. Geology is a fascinating topic, I've picked up a little bit here and there over the years. I'm sort of a science-tech guy myself; went from design engineering to writing patents and still doing that. Funny story - it was actually science that brought me to the Bible. And now as a Christian I actually get upset with the inept interpretations of scripture regarding creation -- scripture does point out a very old creation and everything in its proper place, but traditions have some Christians believing all kinds of crazy things regarding the record of nature.

RelentlessHomesteading interesting! I had to come to terms with a lot of that myself being a Christian with a strong faith but also having an understanding of science as well.

@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid There is actually NO schism whatsoever -- when one studies carefully the scriptural creation accounts, one finds they line up perfectly with known science. The earth and universe are VERY old, the flood did not cover the entire earth, and the creation days were each long epochs. Hugh Ross of Reasons to Believe minstries does an OUTSTANDING job with detailing proper interpretations of scientific elements from scripture. Their ministry has been around 30ish years now with many marvelous books you might check out. I grew up in an atheist household, but saw many issues with that theory. I attended one of his talks and chatted with him, and within the week I had given my life to Christ - finally everything made sense. Just grabbed a KZbin talk of his: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYezdYmddtempbc. To understand Genesis one has to look at the hebrew words and also consider the other scriptural creation accounts in Job, Ps 104 etc. Their ministry is marvelous with astrophysicists, biochemists, geologists and so forth on their staff. My wife had been a Christian many years, but when I gave her their book Creator and the Cosmos -- after reading it she said "I feel like my faith now has two feet on the ground". I would highly recommend checking into that - where I used to live there was a nearby chapter of Reasons to Believe and I used to go every month with a rocket scientist friend of mine (he designed rockets in the Mohave desert). It was wonderful to get together with like minded individuals. I really miss that now, ...living out in the sticks.
