I watched this series when i was in a very hard time in my life. I still haven't fully recovered. This series thought me how people are, the cruelity of the world, emptyness and how the modern world develops over time. Towards the end of the series, i gained strength in removing the darkness and emptiness in my life. It wasn't easy, just like what the characters go through. At my age now, i try what i can in my life with what little I have. Maybe it will work out or maybe it wont. All i know i didnt drag anyone else with me on this painful journey.

Don was born in 1926 and somehow avoided the tail end of ww2. But he would have had to be well into his 20s even if he went to Korea on day 1 of the war. Which begs the question what was he doing from 18 on before going into the army.

Actually, he would be born in 1924, because the first season was meant to be 1960 and he was 36 years old. But I agree that the show’ s only misstep is his Korea wall age ( clearly not when he was 18), and what he did after the war(maybe car salesman)?!
