I have a Joyo sweet honey which is a clone. But that pedal inspired me to build a clone of the sweet honey. I love it

I like the 'loud amp in the room' approach! Too many gear demos are recorded with digital modelling gear or ox boxes. Great job 👍

Love my 2 Mad Professor pedals. I have a Blueberry Bass OD, and recently scored a Handmade Fire Red Fuzz for $98 on Reverb. GREAT TONES!!! GREAT REVIEW!!!

The Focus knob does an excellent job of adjusting the dynamics of your playing. According to MP's website: "Turning Focus CCW you need to play harder to get distortion and the tone is softer, great for jazz and blues. Focus turned CW gives a slight treble boost and earlier distortion great for classic rock." And, BTW, congrats on the great playing 🎸

Mad Professor pedals are just great. I use Royal Blue Overdrive and Deep Blue Delay and love them.

Thank you for this demo !! One thing I love about mine is how ridiculously sensitive it is to pick dynamics, you can have a rocking power chord and a sensitive arpeggio without ever touching the volume pot 😉😊😊

The SHOD is the overdrive I’ve owned the longest and the only one I’d never sell. For low-medium gain sounds, it’s fabulous. I’ve also owned the deluxe version and, whilst it’s also excellent, it doesn’t sound the same as the original. It definitely does not sound like a Klon to my ears. Way brighter and more gain.

Let me know if you own or have tested this one out before! It's been on my list of pedals to review for years, and it's great to get my hands on it finally. Thanks to Sky Music for the loaner! i'm really into "two-in-one" pedal ATM. i'm infatuated with my Boss Angry Driver. a 2 in 1, Boss Blues Driver and JHS Angry Charlie (think, overdriven JCM 800).

I've had one for about 8 years and it seldom leaves my board. I usually stack it with their Simble Predriver pedal. Awesome combination.

It’s hard to describe, but this pedal has a creaminess that’s hard to describe. I have the Joyo clone and it’s so good. My amp is a tone master twin that’s clean as the day is long. I use the sweet od as a very subtle very light gain stage that’s always on, set to the sweet spot where if I roll the guitar’s volume back to 6 or so it’s completely clean. I have a demonfx gravity (ts10+Klon) before it set where the ts10 is just a mid hump solo clean boost, and the klon is set up pretty hot as a medium gain stage. Then all this goes into a rat as my final gain stage, with a Russian big muff clone at the end. This setup sounds phenomenal, imho.

I like watching the review videos. Your playing is cool and you get some great tones out of the pedals, but it’s hard to beat the classic tele + marshall sound I’ve already got at home.🎸

First off great episode. Now, Some think that the sweet honey is a klon style pedal however it is not a klon-like or a klon style pedal. It is based on a original circuit called the Honey Bee by Björn jhul. The honey bee circuit in the mad Professor sweet honey is doing its best to sound and behave like a beat up supro combo, or so goes the legend. Does a klon sound like that? no. Peace

Nice sounding pedal Shane. Sounded best to me with the Tele! Didn't you review another type of overdrive pedal from Mad Professor a while back? Can't remember which one. 🤔

I'll be honest with you, I'm not buying more overdrives hahaha And probably many other guitarrist aren't either, or are they? Anyway, I do remember mentioning something like that on a past podcast and perhaps that's the reason you are not doing as many pedal reviews these days. Still, new content is always appreciated from our favourite gear reviewer content creator, especially by the old subscribers to the channel. I still sometimes come back to the old behringer days and rewatch those oldies, Another one I remember fondly was the review of the Robot pedal whatever that pedal was about lol. And certainly, I will always be here for new stuff. We have learnt so much with you, Shane; thank you! As always, much love from Peru, mate!
