madrock was great about replacing my first pair of drone 1.0's that delaminated early. can't wait to try the 2.0's, however im a cheap ass and waiting until my 1.0's disintegrate and resemble flipflops before i get a new pair

After having the drone 1.0 for over a year, would definitely recommend again and again. Was a bit sceptical to try them but they've honestly treated me really well, both indoor and outdoor on rock. Once these run their course I'm keen t try the 2.0 and see how they stack up

It was probably the Flash. They've had a number of orange shoes over the years but the Flash was definitely the most orange, and it was super popular

I wore the Drone 1.0 for a couple years and now am in the 2.0. The OG drones were my favorite shoe but they have some delamination issues. With the 2.0 it seems like they completely fixed that issue and the added toe rubber is really nice. Loving them so far.

Hey Alex. I have my likes and dislikes for the 2.0. With the 1.0 I wore a LV sz 11 and it fit me perfectly. I never had heel slippage or bagginess in the shoe. With the 2.0, I got the same volume and size, but the heel fits and feels different. There's a bagginess and lack of security in the heelp after the break-in period. I've had this issue with both the OG 2.0 and Comp drones. It could be a volume issue (needing to get a HV) but I'm not sure. That being said, I like what they did with the front half of the shoe. Toe hooks are nicer while they feel stiffer out the box, the 2.0 has soften up and works nicely indoor and out. They've been much more durable as well. Overall, I prefer my 1.0 soley becuase of the heel fit, but if I can make the sizing of the 2.0 heel work I'd be more than satisfied with the 2.0. @@Alex413xAlien

I really love the mission and design of madrock shoes...I just cant find a pair that fits me :( The wide isnt wide enough for me and my long toes do not fit into the molded toeboxes on the drones. Id love to try a shark if there was one near me.

Yeah I agree. The Pheonix fits the best for me but I wish I could wear the Drone CS.

Because the redlines are so soft they conform to the shape of the forefoot as they break in. Mine felt a little narrow at first but after the break in period, they fit amazing.

Are the drone 2.0 resolable? I know one of the key features is the lack of rand and the 6mm climbing rubber instead. Does that mean it can't be resoled at a typical shoe repair place?

Yes, the Drone 2.0 is resolable but it's likely not every cobbler is going to know how but Mad Rock resolers will be able to.

I think 2.0 would be better just because edging is better on 2.0 than CS.

I've owned 2 pairs od vegan drones (black) both of them started delaminating on first session. Do not recomend, shit vegan glue, dont buy them ! You'll become dissapointed very fast.

owned a pair of the drones 1.0. only shoe that has spilt in the mid sole for me. only climbed in-doors in them as well, did not even last 6 months. would not recommend.

that actually happend for few seasons. they knew that so in korea I was able to get new one for that problem.

I heard glue used for midsole was changed for that seasons.
