"Strategic Air Command" publicized the B-36 bomber and then newer B-47 bomber. Jimmy Steward was ideal for this movie because Steward flew B-24 bombers over Germany in World War Two and was an officer in the Air Force Reserve. Jimmy Steward found "Strategic Air Command" a difficult movie to star in because he had to relive his WW2 days. General Steward's last combat mission was in a B-52 bomber during Vietnam. So many movies. So little time. Good luck watching them. Thanks for sharing your mail with us.

Ladyhawke is great! You will love it! One of the very first movies I saw as a kid at the dollar theater with my mom. We didn’t have much money, s we’d go see first run movies a few months after they came out, when they were cheap, and we knew what was good or not already. 😂 Places In The Heart with Sally Field’s Oscar winning performance was another we saw there that you would absolutely love. We also saw classics like The Black Stallion, Mr Mom, and The Man From Snowy River at that $1 theater.

What a great bunch of movies! “The Talk of the Town” is a wonderful movie with terrific actors. You saw Jean Arthur in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” and in “Shane.” “Treasure of the Sierra Madre” is one of my favorite movies and is, I think, Bogart’s best performance. The novel it was based on, by the mysterious B. Traven, is also excellent, and comparing Huston’s screenplay with the book is like a course in screenwriting. “Zulu” is an epic historical with many top British actors of the ‘60s. I also highly recommend both the Disney series. I saw them as a young child when they originally ran on TV. Leslie Nielsen played the Swamp Fox in that, and the historical hero was the model for the movie “The Patriot.”

Probably a bit much to ask, but I'm sure there is some interest in hearing you thoughts on Carole King's Landmark Tapestry album. King wrote and collaborated with other songwriters since her teen years in the 60's. There are probably many songs people may not know she was involved with, Tapestry is made with some of those song (good on Oxbow and Treasure). :)

You get a lot of great movies sent to you. I highly recommend The Ghost and Mrs Muir. No spoilers! Bell, Book and Candle is great too. Also I would highly recommend a couple of movies that would be great for spooky season: 1946 The Spiral Staircase 1960 The Innocents 1971 Let's Scare Jessica to Death. Love your channel, one of the best.

Those are some great Jimmy Stewart movies. Bell, Book and Candle is one of my favorite movies. You need to watch some Randolph Scott westerns. Ride Lonesome, The Tall T and Comanche Station are my favorites. Jean Arthur was the Julia Roberts of her day. She did tons of hilarious rom-coms.
