The fact that all his "online friends" got caught eventually acting on these 'fantasies' is quite telling, and I'm sure somewhere out there someone is asking why something wasn't done to those men before it got to that point. Also, police typically want to "lure" you out of your home for their safety, especially when the person is known to have weapons inside, such as a fellow law enforcement agent. They don't know the layout of the home or where the weapons are, so a controlled environment, such as a hallway is safer for all involved.

Dr. Deets was a red flag to me. When he said, “ he found it troubling… that people weren’t able to separate the two [Gil’s fantasies and his actions],” that sounded like a man who ALSO has dark desires that he’s hiding because he knows how others will react.

Exactly, I thought the same too. A cop who has dark fantasies and imaginations of butchering and eating human flesh is not something ordinary and normal to have in mind everyday. That's how crimes all starts to begin. It always begins such disturbing and creepy thoughts. Him and the Dr. D are have something common and are obviously partner in crime.😢

Yep came here to say he was a red flag .... The psychologist saying "hes a nice guy." Narcissists are also known as "nice men/ women" unless you are their victim. Of course they treat everyone way better than they treat their victim, they don't want their friends or the public to think they are the truly selfish, mean, narcissistic that people they are!
@csailer23536 ай бұрын
You are the kind of people the Dr is talking about. You aren’t able to separate fantasy from reality. If you think people should be locked up for their thoughts, then most of the internet should get locked up. I’ve heard some pretty terrible statements about wanting to harm others. It’s not any different. There are more people than you know that have very dark fantasies. I have a friend like this. The only reason you don’t know about them is fear of exactly what a lot of people are doing……..condemning them for thoughts.
@MelindaW10006 ай бұрын

This is such a thought-provoking situation - on freedom of expression, where to draw the line on if a person is a danger to society, and where dark fetishes come from. All I can say is I hope him going through this makes sure he never escalates the fantasies into something tragic, and may his wife heal from this terrible and traumatizing experience.

He had already escalated the fantasies by violating their privacies and contacting others to kidnap these women. I HIGHLY doubt it won't escalate to real-life as he has no control over his desires.
