As a kid the only levels I could get A rank on every mission/difficulty were actually the treasure hunting ones. I loved them haha, still do :p

The ONLY Stage I A ranked was COSMIC WALL, & I enjoyed playing it, also I accidentally entered the test stage(this was during my first playthrough on my Xbox One

As long as we get the A rank guide for Green Hill Zone at the end, I'm happy. (Personally, when I was attempting to unlock it several years ago, I remember City Escape and Radical Highway randomly being hard for me to A rank despite them being early stages)

Not knowing how to do the Spiral Kick was the equivalent of that one barrel in Carnival Night in Sonic 3. Not THAT hard to do once you know, but because the game never explicitly tells you how to do it, my dumb kid brain never worked it out.

I THINK theres an Omochao that tells you in one of the levels, but I could be making that up. I vaguely remember something like that though. But its definitely not obvious.

Just commenting as someone who found your channel through the Sonic videos: Adventure videos are definitely what I look forward to the most form you. Even after running dry some ideas (there are only so many characters you can try to beat the game with, there are only so many levels in a game to show off in videos like this one. However, I really enjoyed watching your videos about mods too; I normally don't watch streams, but I found that it was pretty fun even watching you live, too. I definitely am most interested in Sonic Adventure content (mainly just my current mood and you're scratching that itch) but I would definitely be interested in seeing the same kinds of videos with other games. I really hope you can continue to find success with whatever you do going forward, because I really enjoy your videos!

I already finished all the A-ranks on this level, but wanted to see if there was an easier method for future playthroughs. Wow, I didn't even think to use the treasure scope for the 100 ring mission. My strategy was to circle around the starting area, pick up the rings on Capsule Planet, then collect the rest near the top. Definitely doable, but the timing is tight! And as for that one emerald shard on hard mode, I found that wiggling the control stick until I was facing the emerald then kicking until I was under it worked well enough for me.

I still dont know how to do that Spiral Kick. It was TORTURE trying to randomly get it to work. I was lucky to get it but thats the mission that haunts me whenever I think to get all A ranks again

Better then most people's first playthrough lol. Mad Space is one of those levels that really deters people from 100% completing the game.

I've legit put over 400 hours into this game and gotten all the emblems and this level still gives me trouble. Your route is actually super similar to the one I've come up with already I just never thought to collect rings and boxes and 1ups as you go, I never realized that would actually be that helpful but it really is. That being said I still can't really get it consistently, which is really what I want. It feels like when I do it's because I got lucky. Like I've had a number of times where I got to the top of the level and still hadn't found one yet. I feel like this level doesn't have as many emerald spots as all the others so maybe it's easier to just check every spot as you go? that doesn't really work with dig spots though. In the past I've been able to A rank it fairly often when I stop and use hits half of the time but even that doesn't always work and I really want to be able to get consistent A's without hits because that's just more fun. It's something I'll try to practice more but I wanna ask some questions to help me out 2:21 I'm not sure how you're checking all the areas like that. Like that's close enough for it to detect any emeralds on those planets even when they could be on the other side of the planets or could be on either end of the big green pill planet? How often is the first emerald on the radar at the way bottom of the level? because I feel like it's weirdly not often at all. Is that true or am I way off? Again I've put sooooo much time into this game and I LOVE the treasure hunting levels but this is still the only level I can't consistently A rank and I just really want to learn this game better. And I have more fun with the treasure hunting when I don't have to use hints, especially in mad space where you have to pause and decipher what they're saying. It's ok if you don't have all the answers for me but any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think I've found anything else online about trying to A rank this level without hints so this was already helpful I just have more questions

Its close enough for alot of them. There might be the odd emerald thats too far though. If you're going hintless the reality is you wont ever get to a point where you're 100% getting A ranks each time, because sometimes the RNG just wont be in your favor. I looked through the spreadsheet to refresh my memory, there is only one first emerald location on the bottom of the level, so its likely that doesn't happen often. The spreadsheet with every emerald location is in the video description if you want to take a look at it. If I had to come up with a way to maximize A rank hintless runs, I think I'd start with memorizing all of the exposed emeralds, and all the emeralds inside enemies/boxes that can easily be checked, and make a new route to check as many of those as possible, and focus less on getting the bonus points from the enemies and bubbles. Also feel free to ask questions! I'm happy to help out where I can!

If you just fly around aimlessly, its still possible to get the A rank with just the emeralds if you get them fast enough. You dont have to do all the techniques in this video, but they help you do it more consistently and not rely on stumbling into it

BTW the last time I went through the SA2 plot in December 2023, I restarted this level 4 times!! The first two times, because I couldn't find shit for 40 minutes........ On the third attempt, out of desperation, I restarted the level, BUT ON THE FOURTH ATTEMPT I FOUND 2 EMERALDS WITHOUT RADAR, and I searched for the last one in 10 minutes between containers in space!!! 😀

Route 101 is probably the first level where I unlocked Hard Mode as a kid, but I could never even beat Hard Mode let alone A Rank it.

This level still gives me struggles to this day, especially since SA2's radar will only track down one emerald/item unlike SA1

Still better than meteor herd. At least at Mad Space you can just vibe around for 20 minutes looking for shards. When I 180 emblemed the game back on the GameCube the hard mode here was the last A rank I needed. Thought that the spinning spike balls had to hit you into the meteor which would then explode and hit you upwards. It was a fit of rage and button spam when i finally got it.
