that race is perfect. The cone turn, when keisuke sees the gtr in the dark, removing any doubt the the strategy is working, the gtr loosing grip... even the aftermath when keisuke beats him but can't beat the record of the mountain... just perfect

I love the God Foot. He seems like a good sportsman suggesting an uphill and downhill battle because I think a Skyline on a driver his skill level is enough to win against Keisuke and his RX7. The strategy only works if there's going to be a downhill fight (where he will catch up). Also the borderline cheating in the time trial record. haha... He really doesn't care. He's just out there enjoying a good intense drive.

Both this and the downhill were probably the best races in the whole series. Furthermore these two are my favourite opponents because of their sportsmanship. Seeing god hand take Takumi along for a run to teach him more of his technique was honestly rather moving. Just as the whole of this race, pretty much. A massive contributor to why I also really really liked Stage 4.

Stage 4 has the best races by far with each races having its own unique challenges that the D drivers has to overcome and the explanations given regarding the challenges are very thorough and technical. Stage 5 by comparison is a massive disappointment with the D drivers just being way too overpowered and not having many technical explanations regarding the battles. It all boils down to Fujiwara zone lol and Keisucc fast its such a disappointment compared to previous entries.

Without a doubt the best race in the entire series. The scene at 4:00 shows the climax of this race, in which Kozo Hoshino simply shows Keisuke why he is called God Foot. I confess that I was very excited about this race and hoped the Skyline GT-R would win, but I recognize that Keisuke proved to be an opponent equal to God Foot.

I agree, it was the best race. Everyone thought the move was dirty but even Keisuke realized that he was overtake fair and square. As far as technique I still think God Foot was a little above compared to Keisuke. Couple of factors that contributed to the win is that God Foot suggested the battle to be uphill and downhill instead of the usual uphill which makes me think God Foot is just looking for a good race, not so much a win. Ryusuke pointed out that the change benefits Project D completely. Also Ryusuke's plan to fall behind a couple of seconds to for tire management. Keisuke's techniques was enough to get a win, but I think Ryusuke's winning strategy added by God Foot's focus on sportsmanship added to this win.

The rest of 5th stage had no stakes, no character personality, no lesson to be learned for Takumi to get the win. At best it was boring, and at worst it actively regressed the character development that had been built up in prior stages.
