the old movies were shot on film, and that film is pretty high res and holds up pretty well. When broadcast cameras first came out they weren't very high resolution, so we have that period where older movies look clearer than 90's. Now digital cameras have caught up, but it's an interesting observation. Cheers Panda Sniper.
