The first several seasons and the first few cast changes of Mad TV, yes, most definitely. Then it went to shit. SNL still does decent skits here or there. Mostly it's who happens to be the guest star and how well the writers can do for them. Plus unlike MadTV, SNL still has to mind it's manners so to speak.

Fun Fact: Mad TV had a 3D glasses competition for the "Son of the Mask" movie premier, which is why those graphics appeared on Ginger Snap's face. You had to call the number that came with your 3D glasses once you saw the three images to win the prize. I believe the prize was a walk through role in the movie.

This brought back so many awesome memories. The Ginger Snaps goofy CGI thing was a marketing ploy for The Mask coming out on home video if I remember right. Several shows on Fox had it injected into an episode. I remember the commercials advertising it.
