Honestly TO retinOls sucks .... those squalane , no thank you.... the granactive emulsion is quite good, but i never tried their RetinAl. Right now im usingthe G&G Retinal A Game 0.1% and it broke the shit out of me because this is the strongest % that i ever used but after 3 weeks is coming back to normal. Now.... the question is... is 0.2% retinaldehyde more gentle than tretinoin ?

I've been using The Ordinary (15ml - so annoying!) for close to a year now and I'd like to try Geek & Gorgeous (the formulation seems more elegant) but it loses much of its advantage in the 'bang for your buck' category, for Canadians at least, because the exchange in Canada is $41CAD to The Ordinary's $22.70CAD, and shipping is pricey. The Ordinary is at Sephora, so I can get it shipped for free. For now I'll have to continue to use The Ordinary, which I'm quite happy with, without a point of comparison. Doing well with your sunscreen. It's lovely and emollient. Not finished my Paula's Choice Skin Recovery SPF30 which is my go to. But I will say that yours didn't make my eyes sting. It's the first non mineral sunscreen that I've been able to use. Looking forward to cracking it open as my daily morning cream and testing it for a longer time. Just to say, I usually stick to SPF 30 in winter and only go to 50 for extreme sun because it's hard to find mineral SPF 50. But I'm always frustrated that I'm sure the effects will wear off, so I'm excited that, in the summer, I'll feel much more protected for much longer with your product. Just ordered my Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 20, Power Peptides, C-Glow and the Mighty Melt cleansing balm. I have used prescription Tretinoin for years, sometimes successfully and sometimes getting “hot mess” skin if I’m not super careful with other actives. I decided to give the G & G 20 a go to see if my skin can tolerate it better than Tretinoin with other actives. I already have G & G 10 that I use on my neck. I’ve been trying the Benton Vitamin C serum 20% and I’ve experienced some irritation. I’ve used 20% in other brands so I’m not sure if the Benton is the issue or not (I’m sort of guilty of adding more than 1 new product at a time 😬😬) …also just added Stratia Rewind and I’ve been using them together in my AM routine. I have some red itchy splotches on my neck and a little peeling/flaky skin on my chin, but no where else. It sounds like the G & G Vitamin C serum 15% is well formulated and I’m impressed that it’s made fresh, so I decided to try it and let the Benton rest. So I am going to be team G & G! 💕🇨🇱💕

Hey Rob...great video as usual...I wanted to incorporate VT Ret-A Reedle Shot in my routine along with G&G A10. Almost done with the G&G bottle and hope to start a new A20 soon (the moment it becomes available in my store). I am not sure how to use VT Reti-A in that case. What is its strength? I'm 1/2 way through my second TO retinal- going to order the G&G this evening and see if there's a difference for me. I used Maelove retinal since it came out and loved it but was ready for higher strength- TO is a bit drying but use a great moisturizer with a bit of castor oil and that solves it. I'll let you know about G&G. I am 70, so really only expect to break even lol, but TO has softened the wrinkles nicely. Thanks Rob- you're a gem and appreciate your style and information! Really insightful video! I've been using TO retinal while waiting for my k-secret retinal reorder. Only got 2 weeks out of it and was VERY drying as you mentioned even after applying hydrating serum/cream same night & even after Sunscreen the next morning, my face literally needed a drink. However i did notice a more youthful appearance, didn't breakout either. id be more inclined to try the alternatives if im in a pinch again. but ill stick to the k-secret for now

Use both geek and gorgeous A game 10 and 5, and use the Ordinary retinal 0.2. Not tried the geek and gorgeous 20 yet. Do use medik8 crystal retinal 20 too. This doesn't require any buffering for me like the ordinary retinal 0.2 does. Medik8 have recently released Crystal retinal 24. Just wonder is it worth just shy of hundred and ten pounds.

For me in the US, The Ordinary is actually cheaper. I can just pick it up at Ulta in store, while to get the G&G I have to either order $60 worth or pay $7 for shipping. The Ordinary is $14.90, G&G is $24.95+$7.00 Shipping. So it's actually more. Even if I order the ordinary, the free shipping is at $25, so if I get 2, it's the same size and cheaper. I'm currently using a .05% retinal so I will next try the G&G .1%, but I plan to stick with the ordinary after that just because it's more convenient and cheaper to get it to my door.

I'm pretty diehard for TO. I'd be open to trying G & G, but the shipping to Canada is prohibitively expensive (overall ends up being much more expensive than TO). That said, I love the TO product. Now I want to know more about Ecotoen. I have G&G Agame 10 which stings around my nose so I have to use it on top of a moisturizer. I also have the TO Retinal which is stronger but doesn't sting, but is drying and I feel I can only use it three times a week. MAS Oil is the only retinal I can use 7 nights a week. So MAS is the winner for me.

I am happy G&G has added a higher strength retinal to their A-Game lineup, because I really prefer their retinal to other brands I have tried. I am team G&G for my retinal. My mature skin is sensitive, but I have been able to use G&G’s A-Game 5 and 10 with good results. I am a little scared to try G&G’s A-Game 20 because I had such a bad reaction to TO’s 0.2% retinal. I want the potential anti-aging benefits of a 0.2% retinal, but I will have to go slowly.

I tested now TO and Seoul 1988 and I have to say Seoul 1988 is much better! It is both with 2% Retinal, but the Seoul 1988 30 ml costs around 11€ and it is much better from the consistency, it is enriched with Black Ginseng and capsuled with liposomes, feels much better on my skin! The G&G, maybe I test it the next order I‘m making, we‘ll see, but thanks always for your interesting and helpful videos!

The TO Retinal is not 2% but 0,2%. On the other hand the Seoul 1988 Retinal serum claims it contains 2% retinal but it's LIPOSOMAL retinal. It means that the actual amount of pure retinal is about 0,05%. Now, a short while ago Seoul 1988 introduced an eye cream with 4% liposomal retinal and I would very much like to try it as the actual retinal amount should be doubled compared to the serum.

Team G&G all the way! I have not tried a single product from The Ordinary. A- game 10 was my go to retinoid until recently when I decided to try the BOJ eye serum for the whole face ( not sure what the strength on that one is but I am sure is less than A-Game 10). I really love how the BOJ applies on the skin. But I have to give A-game 20 a try for sure. Do you see any difference in the texture of 10 and 20? I have experienced some occasional peeling with the 10 previously, not anything crazy though.

Do you have to keep these in the fridge, like that other ordinary one, with the dropper that's been discontinued? Is that a different type of retinoid? The whole fridge thing is a bit of a barrier. That and the awful smell. Do these have a strong smell?

I haven't tried either of them, I've always just used Dr Sam's & BOJ. I've been really interested in the Geek & Gorgeous one for a few weeks & just think you may have sold me one it. It has the same amount of ml as Dr Sam's but is sooooo much cheaper

I haven’t tried the G&G one yet. After I finish the ordinary, I’ll give it a try. However, in November I know the ordinary will be having a big sale. The negative with G&G brand is, it takes weeks to get to me. I order and I wait and wait.

I do use TO products as well, but the absolute favourite is G&G (I am really proud of them being from Hungary!!)

Rob, would u consider doing content on led/radio frequency at home devices? Im concerned about the skin on my neck and chest - can see my neck starting to "turkify" 😆 They are expensive and i wouldnt want to invest in something if it wasnt gonna improve the siuation. I bring all my dkincare down my neck and chest (inclding A Game10) but im not seeing any difference in this area compared to skin on my face! Frustrating! I know u will give yr honest opinion Rob.❤

By the sound of it, I would choose the Geek & Gorgeous. Especially with the price and the amount you get. I just wish they had a better delivery option for Canada. DHL kind of cancels out any savings.

Peach & Lily’s retinal has ectoin as well! But it’s only .1% and also a way higher price point. It’s beautiful but I’ll definitely be moving up to the geek & gorgeous!!

Save your money, no skin care works..it's about genetics, you either got it or you don't!

The first retinoid I ever used was TO Granative retinoid(?) but at the time I was very inconsistent with my skincare. I've been using the G&G the Agame 10 and I will purchase the 20 next time. So far I've been loving all their products, I use the CGlow every morning, I tried and love the Power Peptides that I need to repurchase and also the Jelly Joker cleanser and the cleansing balm!

I just finished my retinal from the ordinary last night and have been trying to decide which one I’ll try next. I probably will try the g&g one bc I can’t resist something new and I didn’t see crazy results with the ordinary. My skin has never had a problem with any strength or retinal or retinol (though I’ve never tried tret or something seriously sensitizing), I move to strength to strength with zero issues which is honestly weird to me lol. I’m gonna see if I have better results with the g&g and if not I’ll go back to the ordinary because I was surprised that it lasted me forever! Maybe I’m not consistent enough, I only use a couple times a week, but I’ve had mine for months. I wish one of these brand would launch an affordable version of an even higher strength because I think I’m ready! And not sure if I can deal with medik8 prices haha.

Peach & Lily’s retinal serum uses 0.3% ectoin. It’s a 0.1% concentration of retinal and super gentle on sensitive skin.
