When they auditioned for XFactor Italy, the judges recognized immediately their talent but they pointed out (all of them) how the drummer was the weakest member of the band. When Maneskin showed up for the second audition, the drummed showed an improvement that made the judges decided to give them a chance with no reserves. Since then Ethan never stopped getting better and better. Literally, throughout XF you can see and hear Ethan's improvement. They worked hard for this and I'm absolutely happy finally people around the world are starting to recognize their talent.

Ethan Torchio (pronounced Etan Torkio in Italian) is really one of a kind. He was the last one to join the band after the other three guys placed an ad Facebook. He just adds spice to Victoria's baselines, Thomas' guitar riffs and Damiano's sublime vocals. He is so unpredictable when he plays. You never know when the next beat change is coming and which part of the drumkit he's gonna hit next, but he makes sense whatever he decides to do. He doesn't disdain using cowbells too, which let's say it, many rock groups have nowadays put on the backburner. Love you reactions. Keep them coming buddy. Thomas (the guitarist) often points out how Jimmy Page is his main inspiration and in interviews when they ask them who they'd like to collab with he always says Greta van Fleet, whose style as you certainly know is so similar to Led Zeppelin. Actually after Maneskin won Eurovision they got some really cool comments from many musicians they've always looked up to, like Franz Ferdinand and Royal Blood. And Scarlett Page (Jimmy Page's daughter) shared on her instagram how she loves Maneskin and especially the guitarist. Thomas was over the moon 😂

You should listen the live version of Zitti e Buoni from SANREMO contest which tho won. They performed with a orchestra and some part with violin is just beautiful ! By the way the correct way to pronounce the name Måneskin is by saying MONESKIN with MO, in Italy everybody pronounce MANESKIN with MA because we don’t have the letter Å. Måneskin is a Skandinavias word that means moonlight, the girl in the band is originally from Denmark ( I think from mother side ) and when the band needed a name to take a part in XFACTOR they ask to the girl to say some words in danish random and they pick up Måneskin. I thought it maybe be interesting to know about it 😉 I’m sorry for my english ! And one last thing ! I really like yours video. Wasn't also John Bonham, Led Zeppelin's drummer, considered to be one of the best at their time? One with an incredible feeling for rhythm, who added this certain extra to the music that no other had. Ethan is somehow my secret (and underrated) star of the four, because he is so calm, yet almost shy, but really nice (in a video, he explained to people "ti amo means I love you"), and he has a fantastic sense for the exact beat. Not only 4/4, he easily switches the rhythms, a few triplets inserted, the cow bells absolutely precise. It's a pity that the videos show only so few sequences of him playing.
@lemonyanemone81183 жыл бұрын
Sadly, people always tend to overlook the drummer in bands /: Singer and guitarist are always in the front of the scene while the drummer is always in the back - people can't even see them properly. Saying this as somebody who is married to a drummer haha. Ethan is amazing.
