Actually, some of the ninja reanimated were specifically chosen by Kabuto because he knew it'll be painful for some characters to deal with them. He intended from the beginning to make an emotional conflict and take advantage of it. Dan for example was chosen because he knew it would hurt Tsunade to have to fight him.

remember in the 5 kage summit when madara encounter all the 5 kage talking about his plan? the moment madara appeared, raikage tried to attack him using his super speed. but it was just pass through madara. that prove that madara was always fast enough to react raikage attacks. no matter how fast you are, speed alone would never made it. the fourth used both speed and transportation ninjutsu to outfast madara

Everybody always underestimates Kabuto. People forget that he is Orochimaru's chosen and he was strong enough to go toe to toe with Kakashi. I'm pretty sure he is considered an S level threat.

The reason Reanimation is strong and doesn’t require much chakra from the caster is because you already need a living sacrifice to summon the souls of the dead. So after that you don’t need much more, but the cost has already been paid in a way. So it’s an OP jutsu for sure if you don’t care about other people’s lives.

The Edo Tensei doesn't take the body of the one who is reanimated. You simply need some cells of the reanimated person, a random dead body and well the knowledge of Orochimaru. And voila. Because of that Itachi and Nagato will both have still their kekkei genkai (Nagatos left Rinnegan is now Madara's and Itachis eyes both are Sasukes. Because it was in their DNA when they died. You can see it becase the real coprse of Nagato was hidden by Konan and she didn't told anyone. The one in the Edo tensei is just a perfect copy of Nagato before he died, which is why he has the white hait regartless.

The reanimated are controlled by a tag you learned this with the fight of the 3rd hokage and Orochimaru the controller can let them have free will but can control them to do what they want but there are ways to beat it like genjutsu, sealing jutsu. also they dont need the original body of a person to reanimate them they just need blood and 1 person to sacrifice.

The only real limitations of the Reanimation are that the user needs someone’s dna prior to executing the jutsu and having enough chakra to pull off the jutsu. That’s why characters like Jiraiya and Kisame don’t get revived. Jiraiya’s body is lost under the Hidden Rain’s sea, and Kisame just died, so Kabuto never got his dna.
