MadCatz RAT AIR mouse unboxing and mini review

The new MadCatz should just update R.A.T. 9, don't change anything, just update the sensor to the latest optical one today. I'm pretty sure many people will buy it.

It literally doesn’t feel like MadCatz. I’m comparing it to my Rat 9. The middle wheel and the thumb wheel feel flimsy. Not all “turns” are registered. The rat 9 works perfectly fine.

Hi zYxMa could you please tell me what is the lift off distance that the mouse will still charge, I want to put the mat under my table which is 1 cm thick and use my glorious mouse mat.

Not Bluetooth. Some kind of wireless but it doesn’t say what kind it is.

Maybe the Rat Pro X3 would have been a better Rat 9 replacement, because it has the pinky rest as well. But that capacitor and charging mouse mat thing is cool too. Am a long time RAT user as well and switched to a Rat Pro X (the ugly yellow one without RGB light) and I like that one ever more than the 9. The Pro X has better micro switches than the 9 had, lasting longer and several different sensor modules (laser and optical). There is possibly some black Friday offers. Anyways, nice review.

That would be cool if they made a Rat with features from both the RAT Air and Pro X3 to combine all their options in one package.

that mat dont charge the mice all over matt, middle and top and button and buttom corner cant charge the mice, so its bad the matt. i return it now. also the side buttons has same everyting as rat 4+ and 8, a dingl click , but -3-7 sounds pr button click,.

kinda glad i didn't buy the rat air from what im seeing. the rat 8+ i bought early last year has been working flawlessly. but my rat 9 that im using from my couch is a piece off garbage most of the time. have you ever had tracking issues with your rat 9? issues with the mouse only wanting to move the courser up and down even if you are moving it from side to side. and if so have you found a fix for it?

@@zYxMa i dont have wifi on my pc but i do live in the middle of a town with a bunch of different wifi connections nearby. i also have a R.a.t.m and it does the same thing both on wireless and bluetooth. while the cheapo mouse i had before works fine has better battery life but unfortunately the scroll wheel has died

@@J.F.K.O This happends if you using connection via USB 3.0 you must use USB 2.0 port or use 2.0 hub also better is to use windows legacy driver not from madcatz

Hay Stay I returned mine within two weeks. I didn’t like it. The drives are shite and the build quality really poor compared to my rat 9 that I’m still using.

Mouse 4 and 5 will only last you about 2 years of use. I don't recommend buying this. Your side buttons are gonna break pretty quickly with over-use. Edit: Sniper button is fine... But I really recommend you just buy some other mouse. You also will not be able to find at RAT9. They don't make them anymore from the looks of it. Cannot find it. I really just recommend you guys get a new mouse from a different company.

its the width of a keyboard. how are you suppose to have it on your desk. if it was smaller... Plus I use 3d mousepads for my wrists. Will it charge through another mousepad?? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO REPLACE MY RAT 9??????????????? I need another one. The alternatives are so bad. Why would i want to carry around 50 AA batteries????? @@andrewlin5119 what is the replacement and how is the USB obsolete exactly? It's been built upon through many iterations. Even Lightning and Thunderbolt is based on it. Wireless is not very efficient and even then it has to be connected to a power source. You can't break thermodynamics.
