Kicker/punter career mode is possible.. you just have to create a player, put them on a roster + change depth chart and tediously only control the special team plays on franchise. I’ve done this a handful of times on a few of the maddens and ncaa over the years

It is pretty wild how much better Madden used to be. Even just focusing on the Madden player career mode (It has a new name every other game so that's what I'm calling it). They used to let you pick every position on the field. Madden 23 lets you pick from 5 positions. They used to let you do private workouts and interviews. You could do IQ tests. You had combine mini-games. You'd get invited to the Madden Bowl. Your building would change based on how much money you made. All of those features made the games way better. The current games have zero heart. I would play the old career modes for hours and hours. The only reason I even had 23 is because it came with Jets season tickets. I don't know why people still love Madden and buy it every year. It just hasn't been good in like 10 years.

I have Madden 08 on the 360. If you're using a wireless controller there's an input lag just long enough to jack up the timing on the 40. If you've got a wired one it's easier.

The Raiders bringing in a prospective draft pick to go one-on-one with Woodson is cold blooded. IF Madden becomes what it used to be and they put this kind of content back into the game, they should tweak XP gained based off the corner you face. Getting one catch vs Woodson should be all a rookie TE needs on his resume.
