Its odd sort of, that 2003 season was pats vs Panthers.

That'd be something to get Peyton Manning and Tony Gonzalez in the first two rounds. If you're sole goal is to have that gamechanger like Marshall Faulk on top of Tony and settle for "not Manning" as QB, be prepared for constant worry since RB by committee seems fine enough if those RBs have enough carrying and speed.

100% Agreement. In terms of Madden (2003) game play, would you even take Manning, or would you be happy with someone like Vick or Brees in later rounds?

@@PaulGaitherI'd only take Manning if I wanted a "more realistic" slider set where mid QBs are not that accurate. Having that said, someone with 90 THP & 80 THA will throw less INTs due to bad timing than someone with 80 THP and 90 THA because that latter kind of QB has their throw float for so long and throw arcs aren't that nuanced for the accurate QB to throw in places only the receiver can get it.

That is an interesting perspective. While I cannot say that all NFL QBs are accurate, there is a generalization and understanding that, to be in the NFL, you have to have a base line of accuracy. I would say that a slider set that made "mid QBs not that accurate" would *not* be a correct/realistic slider set. Instead, what separates top QB talent from mid-level QB talent is mental, physical, and psychological confidence + the ability to learn/how they process. To quote one NFL GM, Scott Fitterer, "You look at what they can do. Is it correctable? Can you work with them?" That is why I like to run CPU vs CPU games - the user overrides the AWR rating, and to some degree the accuracy with thier ability to adjust to the limitations of a given player's skill set. However, with CPU vs CPU, you are at the mercy of their AWR for decision making. This is also why I like Madden 12 & 25 so much: they have player traits. Tucks and Runs: Raely/Sometimes/Often Senses Pressure: Paranoid/Trigger Happy/Oblivious/Average/Ideal Forces Passes: Conservative/Aggressive/Ideal Throws Ball Away: No/Yes Throws Tight Spiral: No/Yes Clutch: No/Yes That comes to 12376 possible combinations of traits a player could have in adition to thier rating sets + the consistency (0-4 stars) they might have.

That is a good list of targets across the spectrum of where you might draft in the first round. Kearse went 6th in the second round, so if you draft late, you might get two of your targets.
