What I noticed was a consistent tendency to wait and watch for the receiver to make the cut out before making the throw - in other words, he didn’t approach the route with anticipation or internal/drop back timing. I also saw (and heard) that his throwing motion begins with a ball-pat - this is a correctable mechanical issue that is costing fractions of a second, and affecting the late arriving incomplete passes. A NFL QB’s job is to throw on time to the open window schemed by the coaches; and the NFL WR job is to have hands in that window on time and make a play on the ball. If AR plays with tunnel vision on teammates rather than reading the defenders and anticipating the open/closing of space and coverage gaps on the field, he’s going to learn first hand that it’s the Not-For-Long business.

I can see AR starting mid season & just doing rpo’s and intermediate passes like how Lamar Jackson did his first year, that way he can get real game experience & see what he needs to work on. He’s a huge threat on both air and the ground game, all he needs to do is fix up his accuracy & mechanics.

He had some nice throws, but not every ball he threw was perfect. He overthrew a few. He threw a couple of those balls effectively out of bounds. His raw talent looks good for sure. There is some good potential there, but he definitely needs refinement. I don't think he's ready to start that's for sure.

He got the hardware for athleticism and arm strength and if we want to be critical then he could work on his throwing accuracy. Some of his throws were slightly overthrown or too high and the wrs that adjusted had to go out of bounds. However that is something that he can learn and get better at so he has great potential. The 70yd bombs were honestly surprising.
