I have tried it. Against players with good teams, you must use smart route. Most players will select the auto option of cover 3 for this formation and you can burn them at least once. From then on they focus on covering long routes (doubling the Y route as well) and you can get them with slants and drags. And in the end you mix it up and blow them out.

If you got game, you don't needs these videos. This is my first time here, and the first example is one of my favorite plays anyhow that go to. Pass game is sickening and my run game is brutal punishment. I'm not unstoppable, and have been beaten before but not often. The only thing I would tell anyone playing against me is "Do NOT turn that ball over!" Every pass better be completed and it better be first downs and not a pick better be thrown. If you got a run game, better make it a productive one, because if not, your running back will be beaten up every carry and he won't be effective at all in the game. Your best bet is to install trick plays to try to throw me off. Been playing Madden since the first one came out on Sega Genesis when they ain't have of the teams or players. They just had teams from the cities like Philadelphia and San Francisco but they weren't called Eagles or 49ers.

I can only see that this video was made at least a week ago and I’m assuming it was pre patch because on the middle high low that Y receiver is almost never open and most of the time it’s an interception. Lob pass, bullet pass, leads. It’s just a dead route

A smart route adjusts the depth of your receivers route being run to either reach the first down marker or the goal line (in goal to go situations). This tactic can work with many route that break at a certain depth including but not limited to: ins, outs, corners, curls, hitches, posts, speed ins, speed outs, along with several others.
