Doing carpet for four years prior, trained in mold and mildew removal I can 100% guarantee that steam does NOT kill mold or mildew. To properly remove mold and mildew you need to use vital oxide spray or a mold killer, then follow with an ozone treatment for about an hour especially with something that intense. I detail cars now and I do that exact process

My experience with a moldy car:: I live in Portland Oregon. When I was young and stupid and broke, my car had a leaky window and I just could never afford to get it fixed. The rain poured in slowly over the winter, and molded the carpet. Then the car broke down and I couldn't afford the mechanic. It sat on the street for at least 4-5 more months. When I finally went down to the car to check to see if it was still running - the WHOLE INSIDE LOOKED LIKE THIS CAR!! I freaked out. So I did basically what this guy is doing...and borrowed a steam cleaner and spent around 8-9 hours cleaning every single thing in that car. It looked great and even smelled okay...although I do feel like there was a "hint" of moldy smell in there still. I got the car fixed finally and drove it through the summer. There was no more mold during the hot weather - but as SOON as the rains came in the fall, the mold was rampant. It was "waiting" for the right conditions to re-appear. And I can tell you - even if you get rid of the mold on the seats, the fabric and cushions inside the seats contain spores.

@RMEDM Жыл бұрын
When you buy cars flooded due to disasters at auction, that's how they come, but they sell them to you at the price of eggs, cheap. The problem is that if you don't change the complete wiring, the car will always give you problems. They are good to resell, to keep them, I do not recommend it. And of course if the seats are not removed, the complete upholstery of the car and they are not cleaned underneath and the complete carpet must be removed and put back. of course you have to use a Clorox based product like oxy clean, or ammonia (never mix ammonia with another product, it could kill you). Otherwise, the buyer is going to have a lot of health problems. I don't buy them, but my boss does, and he has no heart, much less compassion. Whoever buys these cars ends up suffering from asthma and respiratory problems. To keep a vehicle like this and have peace of mind, it is advisable to replace all the upholstery, the roof, the wiring and the carpet. And replace de whole systems of AC . Never buy a car flooded in water.

Try 1 part Dawn dish liquid to 3 parts peroxide, scrub extract repeat if needed, dont wet carpet first! It works amazing & gets out everything from blood & sweat stains, you can also try a product called white out & white out rust remover, in cleaning & laundry section at Walmart first wet the area then put on a small amount scrub & extract repeat if needed

When you have a car that moldy, do you recommend always using the ozone treatment? I’d be worried about there being remnants of the mold in the air, even though the car has been thoroughly cleaned.
@laurenkraushaar79133 жыл бұрын
Your cleaning skills are a plus, but truthfully with mold growth like this there is definitely some internal damage that a deep clean can't reach. This whole interior likely needs to be replaced and is still a probable biohazard. Wouldn't suggest that the customers drive this car regularly without a body shop/mechanic looking at it
@LifeMostSouthern3 жыл бұрын
Awesome work as usual! I’m glad the school is showing these videos. I’m all about using a little elbow grease to make something old, new again. Or fixing something that is broke rather than buying new. In my life, this practice started when my husband and I were a young married couple with no money. We had hand me down furniture and a few family pieces that to me are irreplaceable. When they didn’t match the decor I wanted I painted them. Now it’s so much that we don’t have the money but that there are so many deals to be had because people just sorta toss perfectly good furniture, selling it for a fraction of what they paid for it. Sometimes it requires a bit of cleaning and a screwdriver to tighten a screw here or there but it’s still a great piece of furniture. I love making something old new again. Otherwise it would have just gone to a landfill to rot. That’s how I see what you’re doing. Making something that others see as trash new simply because you’re willing to put the work into it. I drive older vehicles and have learned so many things from y’all on how to clean them. My newest is my 07’ Denali that I am so proud of and can’t wait to have some sunshine and energy all on the same day to truly give her a good detailing. I have put your methods to use in the house as well. We have dogs and a mini pig in the house and so I have to take cleaning to a whole new level. I bought a McCullough MC1375 steamer and it was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made! Every other cleaning method: Red Georgia clay!!😱😱😱😱😱 The Steamer: Hold my beer, I got this 💪💪😎😎 😂 Keep up the good work, I love your channel!
