Nice vid. I definitely would need a draft guard at the doors to keep the scorpions out. Living in Minnesota has its advantages in that regard. You've made me want to pick up a plant tomorrow when I go out. Like that you show the prices of things like food and car rides.

My favorite part in this video was when you twirled around and your clothes were changed. I wish I had known about this when you were a baby... It would’ve made changing your diaper so much easier!

I think you made a wise choice leaving the United States. I am hoping to leave soon. It’s a wrap for our country. I will take the blaring car alarms in Mexico any day over the blaring political hate and division on both sides of the isle in our country😢but I wish you well on your home coming. My son is moving to Arizona this month for work and school. Hoping he will enjoy it.

Lots of life growing in that apartment…enough plants to give to all of your friends to have a bit of Maddie to remember! It’s really a testament to how you’ve rebuilt your life into something beautiful over the last couple of years. May there be more pothos and more growth as you head back to the states. All the best to your dad in his surgery, too, and loving his wholesome and funny presence in the comments.

I actually saw you on the street once in my neighborhood when I was back for a 6 months visit near Arcos Vallarta. You're an inspiration. And Mexico will always keep running through your veins. All your favorite places will call you back and itll feel like home again. No matter what for me Mexico is home even if Im somewhere else for awhile too....

@@user-ms6rm1fc9xU are given a residence card when u go through the residence process. If you reenter, you have to use the residence card if you want to continue with residency. Entering as a tourist(getting Fmm card) could complicate things, because you're technically starting your new stay as a tourist and not as a resident.

Hey Maddie, have you ever thought about doing the auxiliar de conversación program in Spain? If you’ve not heard of it, you basically teach conversational English to students in Spain and get paid between 700-1000 euros a month. With your Spanish skills and curiosity I think you’d have a great time there while showing us your experiences there. I did the program 10 years ago and it was amazing.

Maddie, I love plants too. When you will be settled somewhere for a while and can take care of plants again, I have a couple of favorites to recommend that are extremely easy to propagate if you want more little ones: The rubber plant and the Christmas cactus. So easy to root in soil from cuttings! Christmas cactus in particular thrive if they can get some Sun on them every day, but can survive very well in low light too. And like most plants, they do not need a lot of watering. 3-4 weeks if in a good soil mix.

Infants, toddlers, and young children NEED their grandparents. Their brains are in critical stages of neurodevelopment, so they NEED...not want...NEED a lot of safe, nurturing, family members around them to help support the parents and provide a safety net. Again, this is a NEED...not a want. Once they start school, their neurodevelopment will be further along, and teachers and schoolmates can (not always, but hopefully) fill in and make the grandparents less necessary. If you have any shred of conscience and are capable of caring about others, versus being self-absorbed, you care about a child's early years of neurodevelopment, even when that child is not yours. Again, this is about NEED...not want...but genuine need. Your wife is probably an empathic, decent human being. It's unfortunate not everyone is. Self-absorption is such an unattractive character trait, showing a weakness in character. Hopefully, you're not one of those self-absorbed people who can't wait 4-5 years to live there.

I had a rooted pothos ivy in water and put a beta fish in the water with a synergistic effect. The plant benefits because of the fish excrement and when it breathes it expels carbon dioxide. The fish benefits from the plant expelling oxygen and the fish will eat a little of the plant roots. You won’t have to change the water so often either. It works well in a big clear glass container and I fairly large plant with lots of leaves do they rest nicely in the edge of the container. Choose the color of beautiful male beta that you like. They are soooo pretty together.

@maddie I recommend clearing the bed from the wall and some furniture that surrounds it at least 10 cm, to prevent scorpions from reaching your bed (they do not jump so it is a very good solution). I also recommend that you do not drag or touch the ground the sheets or anything so that a scorpion can sugetarse and climb. Where I live also "we live with scorpions every year).

@@georgejetson9801 George Jetson, huh? If you are really George Jetson, then you’re roughly 15 months old now. (If my calculations are correct you were born on July 31, 2022) How do you explain your ability to write these comments? And don’t tell me time travel. I’m not buying it! Lol.

Super fun video--interesting and informative --don't worry about the philodendron! You can find those in the U.S. galore. Love the rose ceramic water holder! And of course so much more.

It really is. I honestly can’t believe 2000s fashion is considered RETRO now. No, no, no. I refuse to believe I’m old enough for that to be the case. It was barely 20 years ago 😝

@@MaddieGold lol. Well I'm over 55yo. We have gone in and out of wearing clothes at the hip, below the hip ...and even above the hip! Lol. I love the style of your videos; raw, humor, honest, details, etc. Question: r there scorpions everywhere in MX? Cites, beaches, etc?

Gaging fashion trends by where it falls on the hip…so funny/true! Re: scorpions, no they’re not so prevalent everywhere in Mexico. Also, not even everywhere in Queretaro. Last time I lived here, I didn’t see a single one

When Maddie was here in Phoenix last week we went to Costco. She priced out what it would cost to replace some of her items. She did the math and it’s cheaper to buy a new one here than to ship that one to Phoenix.

About scorpions. My new husband and I spent our first summer in Borrego Springs this year, in a house that is under two years old. We had so many scorpions and spiders that we made our bed with the covers at the end of the bed, because it became unsafe! The owners had the house sprayed multiple times, yet those creatures got into EVERYTHING! So for our own abode we ordered sonic pest repellents, and we have had NO issues. NONE!

@@stormtrooper346 They really, really do work. Have never been able to figure out how or why they work but they just do. The bugs absolutely hate the things, and seem to go into a frenzy and lose their minds. I love it, have not had a roach or spider or fly in my apartment since I got my first set about six years ago.
