The guy and girl are hooked up to a memory sim machine. In the beginning of the video it shows a stay time of 118 days. She's in critical health and this allows them together to share their fondest memories together. It shows him clicking through the memories since she may not be able to but then theres the sim error that happens and corrupts the memories showing them fighting, her causing harm to herself or dying in various ways(being hit by a car, her floating over the ocean from demonic possession, etc). The robber is a corrupted memory of when HE got shot as if you notice he clutches his neck and it shows a scar there from a bullet wound. It also briefly shows her choking him during this scene. This rips him out of the sim and possibly causes her to go into organ failure from shock? Either way, the system error causes him to wake and he wonders down the hall where she is coding, showing her wrist with the bracelet he had given her. The ending presumably shows him getting back to the room and dying or attempting to reconnect to the machine?

In summary, the video is about a man who lost the woman he loved and tries to keep her alive in his memories. But he still loses it. Somewhere someone comes and shoots, somewhere the girl cuts herself, somewhere she gets hit by a car, somewhere the girl herself leaves, and somewhere she grows old on the operating table and still dies. The man is actually in the simulation the entire time. No matter what he does, he loses it. As a metaphor, we see a man losing someone he loves beyond his control. We see that he keeps her alive in his memories even if it consumes him, that this will continue until he gets old, and that even though the bad memories take over him, he fights with his own mind to remember the good ones. This is both sad and very common for all of us.

In an interview, he told the interviewer this was their way of expressing (proving) how easy it can be to make a catchy pop song. Still a great song!

It's never difficult to write a catchy pop song, its more that no radio will play it unless you're behind a big label with a ton of money. Its a formula that you can learn and replicate.. The bands still very talented though, but you can tell that they know what they're doing.
