Not stupidity. You can't predict the future and you were making sure you got what you needed. With some of the shortages we have had preordering is smart to secure your product.

When I worked for the local Co-op, if we had a situation where the customer prepaid for fertilize and the price went down, we would sell the the fertilize at the lower price when it came in, and then they could use that prepaid amount to purchase additional fertilizer. I’ve been there before too, it’s one of the gambles with farming for sure.

Last year was a time of not knowing how this year would be, so it’s not stupidity at all, you were just going with the flow of times trying to stay ahead of the game!! Ben, fertilizer is about like fuel prices. You never know from one day to the next what its going to cost you. Glad you was able to get the amount you wanted, even though it cost more. Don't beat yourself up over it. The good Lord above will provide what you need, after all He does take care of the sparrow does He not?

I know a person should preorder the fertilizer, but I never have, I guess that isn't smart of me, but we all make mistakes, right. No problems on the video situation, I'll watch whatever you post. We burn mostly black oak or white and post oak, but we also get some hickory, elm and locust. We usually cut fallen trees or standing dead, but sometimes I want a greener tree for burning overnight. Sorry to hear about the fertilizer. God has a plan. Last year our fertilizer was crazy to find somewhere to buy it for less than 4,000$. That was for only one field.

Stop beating yourself up. One thing you have to consider, our dollar aint worth what it used to be. We have never seen it devalue so fast in our lifetime. It's hard to think of in these new terms. $1,000 is the new $100.

Could be worse u didn't have a bad accident or any of your family is sick. Small lesson learned but as someone stated u made sure u were gonna at least secure your product in uncertain times which is most important. So wasn't really stupid.
