Spray a clear coat over your tapped edges then throw your paint on . Helps prevent bleed through

quick question but what grit do you use for shaping the board, sanding it, and where do you get the resin? could you also tell me when you use the different grits for sanding each part of the board? love the videos just subcribed!!

Hey absolutely, I really ought to make a dedicated tutorial on sanding a surf board! When using a flex pad and shaping a board by hand, I use 50grit to take off foam efficiently, after a board is shaped I always buff the blank with 220 to get out any small scratches by the 50 grit, this is especially important when you are going to resin tint a board, any little scratches will hold extra tinted resin and be visible. For sanding a board after it’s glassed, I typically start at 120 to rough sand the whole board, then 220 then 320! I finish out by buffing on some mcguires marine wax using a foam pad, really you could buff it on with a rag if you don’t have a buffing pad, amzn.to/43CfGhR. Hey hope this helps Ethan! You know I used to use the M0916, but have have exclusively traded over to Meguires marine wax amzn.to/472e0zi. It does a great job and I bet it is better for the ocean being formulated for marine use! Hope this helps!
