Some very wise words there at the end. That was really interesting - I don't think I've seen many people start from the vocals before, but the results were pretty amazing.

wow, your workflow is sick :D I'd never start like that. I almost always start with synths, thinking about all the melodies and harmonies. Gotta try to start with chopping and building a track around that. Great vid!

@andycordy5190

It takes a lot of confidence to begin with vocals. Even making vocal samples, it's like daring to make the first mark on a blank piece of paper, you need to have something in your mind to flow with. Here Novaa is remaking an existing song. Some people just like to put something down. Anything. If you're just starting, what is that something?

@1:22 You say you add another compressor to 'gel the two signals together' but you only have 1 signal path. You're not blending 2 chains. You're just adding a compressor at the end of the path

look the problem is. i work on multiple leads. when i press TAP it usually gives me the opportunity to press PLAY. and it starts. when i switch to a midi lead, i mark it, to edit it and make the arrangement. what happens? ABLETON automatically switches the TRIGGER BUTTON for play. This is the problem. this kills my whole workflow. i don't want ableton to switch the start position when i click on a midi file. ableton 9 didn't do that. yet ableton 10 has this BIG ISSUE.This needs to be solved or i will switch back to ableton 9 or cuebase.

using compressor after eq is the right way to go. Not like what's shown here.. it effects the transient shaping when you put eq after comp
@sugnasugna
@sugnasugna 4 жыл бұрын
While it’s definitely important to know this fact, I’ve seen plenty of artists intentionally working like this to control transients. Both ways can work as long as you know the benefits of each.
