The idea of time slowing the deeper you go into the Abyss makes me think of the time dilation that occurs as you approach the event horizon of a black hole. I wonder if that's intentional foreshadowing about the nature of the Abyss?

This is the mission Habo was working on when he returned with Lyza's whistle. they went to meet Ozen afterward, who had just returned from the 4th layer with Lyza's whistle and package. And he's sliding down the cliff, not going up. He mentions he's wedging his useless hand in the crack to help support him as he slides down, since he still has enough movement in the elbow to help maneuver and apply pressure. That's also why he lands hard, and shatters his damaged legbone at the bottom of the cliff, and then had to drag himself to that little alcove to rest.

I adore time dilation as a main plotpoint in this show. True time travel is a trope in media, but dilation is rarely explored.

Amazing video. Just so you know, its "Nah-ray Hah-tay." So it would almost rhyme with "You may par-tay". And in Japanese (I grew up with Japanese so just sharing) it means "A Shadow of your former self" or "The end result of you, after a grand change and/or a great amount of time"

I live for bits of info like this. The languages of the abyss fascinate me. Ex: I learned Luxenbergush is a language since Belaf auto translated to "amount".

one theory i have, is that the finger nails that gravali´s friend has, are from the curse of the sixth layer, and that ¨nest¨ is a place in the sixth layer with almost no force field, that means that you can go up not dying nor loosing your humanity, hence the strange fingers she has.

Reg's prosthetic doesn't control his original hand, he could already do that wirelessly, ie how he was able to defeat Bondrewd with Riko aiming it and Nanachi coordinating.

And it took me listening to a podcast to figure out the scene in the movie where Nanachi told Riko "dont let me see it". It was Regs arm. These details save a dullard like me

So what's the consensus on Srajo? Does she stomp puppies in her free time? Is she gunna gut punch eggs out of Faputa for puggle soup? I really dont see how they top past tragedy without being cartoonishly grotesque. Honestly, I wish they dont; but it's the abyss ofc its gunna get worse before better. I'm along for this wild ride regardless

I assumed the cave painting the raid team found was of the shrine maiden. To me, it looked like a female kneeling while wearing a wide brimmed hat with streamers attached to the rim, ceremonious style.

Yah, that was a mistake on my part. 😅 I didn't realize that until after the fact. To be fair it's never specifically mentioned which direction he's going and it was hard to tell since it's just still images.
