nah. it was good but there were a lot of issues with it, most of which stemmed from the manga (of course, since it's a very close adaptation). in particular, there's the problem of us spending almost no time whatsoever with prushka and her development coming after she's dead. the whole plot in general is needlessly convoluted and confusing. they go into idofront, they escape idofront, they walk back into idofront (and bondrewd, the genius that he is, somehow didnt realize that reg was missing and that this might be a huge issue), and then they leave idofront again. it's unclear what exactly the purpose of reg absorbing power was because zoaholic clearly didnt shut down since bondrewd is still alive at the end, there was lots of jumping around between scenes so the entire layout of idofront and the fifth layer was unclear, it's insane that riko even managed to get reg's arm when it should have been extremely securely locked away and under guard, and i could go on for ages. there are so many problems with this whole sequence in the manga which translate directly into the movie that i wouldnt in good faith give it anything higher than a 4/10 on an objective scale. though, subjectively, i agree

@@yinnyonline I’m pretty sure they stated that they had reg absorb the power to disrupt the base, not stop zoaholic. This way they could try to sneak in, grab Regs arm and Prushka, and try to get to the elevator. The focusing on Idofront is understandable since they literally have to get past it to get to the lift to continue their journey, and there’s no way around it. I didn’t think it was that bad, but I can definitely see how it is a little disjointed. I wonder if this would have been better as two movies, like the split for season, or just as a regular season? Oh well, I still really enjoyed it, and the soundtrack is awesome.

@@akatsuki15721 it would have been better if they'd kept the movie as it was but just added in more transitional scenes with a handful of lines that explained what was going on, what their intentions were, why certain things were possible, etc. The problem isn't that anything that happens is impossible, it's just it's presented as if the viewer should be able to just figure everything out, when their plan is convoluted enough to where leaving it up to the viewer is just not good enough. i was really hoping they'd fix the issues of the manga with this movie by adding in that tiny bit of very much needed filler content, cause the manga was even worse, especially with the jumping around and stuff since everything is gray and it's almost impossible to parse out the environment in the 5th layer. they fixed that in particular by just adding colors but the other issues remain

While they are equaly good at puting a bunch of themes into the same piece, Penkin is superior in mixing totally different styles, creating pieces that partially would fit in Church, Minecraft and Doom. The closest to that I've heard in Undertale is when the real piano kicks in at the turning point in the fight with Photoshop Flowey. Considering that Reg described it as someone else taking over "Dark Reg" is an entirely new character. There are probably more of Regs kind. @@MrTigracho Reg is an Aubade but that's not his species per say. we still really don't know about it. Aubade is just a very broad term used for the highest rate relics of the abyss. "Treasures of the netherworld" . So it could be anything of the greatest value

Transference unit. My theory is that whatever is down at the bottom put their consciousness inside machines to ascend without being affected by the curse. (Kinda like Majikaja, though he technicaly has a body of smells) As reg became unconscious, there was room for another consciousness to slip in and take over. Remember that Idofront is a ritual ground, and that it is used to create white whistles. Maybe the lifes ending there that dosn't get used for something linger?
