Greg does a great job getting convo/wisdom nuggets out of these slightly curmudgenly/obviously generally non super-chatty masters 😅

The amount of trial and error and engineering that has gone into this is amazing. Looking forward to seeing next years run and new record, awesome to see history documented!

The rebuild is coming along well, nice reliefs in the chambers, creating a funnel type affect. Thanks to all. Get busy Greg on the wiring, LOL.

This video had me laughing a bit. A long time ago I added some paint to a few bolts just to stop them from rusting and someone I knew said it was dumb. Wish that someone would see this video lol. Just legendary and I can't wait to see all of you setting new records. Thank you for another great video.

Darrin Morgan, "the guy on KZbin", is an accomplished head porter. The chamber softening allows the flame to reach all the way out to the walls instead of petering out in a quench zone. I imagine it's not an issue with your already open chamber. On a small enough bore you don't really have to think about knock because the fuel burns so quickly.

I like the Piston Ring compressor. Believe it or not I make my own as well but I 3D printing for the small engine class

I used HHS by WURTH , on journals and bearings. When you assemble it and it dries to grease that doesn’t rub off . Never had a problem with it in ten years. Saves time/ don’t have to finger it up with dirt.

I think these guys are amazing. Do they argue much or do they get along all the time? Just curious is all.

Yeah it is a super sonic clap coming off that quench. I suspect those valve reliefs create a lot of chamber chaos. I wonder how much a domed and dished piston would help by allowing valve clearance while also permitting a stable swirl chamber rather than a chaotic mess of Eddie’s and tumbling. I bet there could be some good gains there even if it meant losing some compression.

So out of curiosity, if he doesn't mind, what's Kevin's rationale for rod bolts in this application instead of studs? I feel like it's just me who doesn't exactly jump directly to studs every damn build!

@ 3:09, yea man, the real Z/28 302 cubic inches. If I had the time, age, and money is against me. I would love to build a 302 LS motor. I had a 69 Z/28 in 1969, 4.88 gear. Roadrunners and RTs, next! Street racing I left when the red went out.

Torque is the same when you spin basically the same weight at the same rpm,or at a lot higher rpm, which is poss when you have a shorter stroke,!!!!,, shorter stroke motors are way more responsive ,and higher revving!!!
