There was a guy in the Sacramento, CA are who built a big block ford that had heads more or less like this. He was trying to run it as a top fuel motor as I recall. I heard it fire up at the track a time or two, but never heard it actually try to make a run. This was back in the late seventies. Wish I had taken a few pictures of it.

I care very little about streamliners but that engine is glorious. Would love to see it in a home-built hypercar.

I've watched drag racing since the 70's. This was OMG! from bump start and beyond! Racing against the sum of all parts. The greatest send ever witnessed! An Oscar for a video 📸 of perfection! You've got this record coming. 🏁🏆

Time, we all wish for more time. Building an engine from scratch takes immense amount of time and passion. You really can hear dislike toward pushrods in Petes voice, he really don’t like pushrods. None of any modern engines uses pushrods. Old tractor tech from the fifties. 😂

It seems like you can see a boundary layer of air coming off of the front tires because of the dust that is suspended in that boundary layer. I wonder if there is a way to reduce that layer by either a fairing or a pitot tube to reduce the air pressure build up in front of the tire. This might also help to plant the tire on the dirt making it more controllable at high speeds.

Why not Under Drive the Alternator 50-60% from current ratio? Is Alternator driven from Cam of Crankshaft? Since you use Serpentine, might have to retrofit a Power Steering Pump Pully😊 The Haltech demands voltage & amps to fire. EGT-CHT? Balance equal Power😊 Pete's deep breath & grin is priceless after Kevin's report in the traps😂😂😂😂 More Down Force❗️❗️❗️ Did that on my Old Skool BBC V-Belt, drag car. Dual Points & Cable Tach 3-4 mph improvement after the switch😊
